The storm will roll through parts of the Midwest and South Wednesday night and spread across the East on Thanksgiving Day. Scenario one: A stronger, faster stormThe first scenario would have a storm develop in the Plains Wednesday and strengthen as it heads east. CNN WeatherBut how close to the coast the storm lingers once it reaches the Atlantic Friday will affect post-holiday travel. Wet weather would be minimal for these areas if the storm tracks farther away from the coast Friday. The push of frigid air later this week will also flip the switch on the Great Lakes’ lake-effect snow machine.

CNN —Vaping has an immediate effect on how well the user’s blood vessels work, even if the e-cigarette doesn’t contain nicotine, according to new research. But scientists say these results may mean that vaping regularly could lead to vascular disease down the road. “Even if there was no nicotine in the e-cigarette, there could be other components that may be harmful,” Nabbout said. Compared with the nonsmokers and cigarette smokers, the people who used vapes with nicotine had the most significant reduction in vascular function. If vaping is significantly affecting someone’s vascular health, e-cigarette users could then see increased heart attacks, strokes or blood flow issues, Rizzo said.

When Donald J. Trump first ran for the White House in 2016, his closing campaign advertisement lamented the influence of Wall Street in Washington, flashing ominous images of big banks and the billionaire liberal philanthropist George Soros. Now, as president-elect, Mr. Trump has tapped two denizens of Wall Street to run his economic agenda. Mr. Trump’s choices to lead his economic team show the prominence of billionaire investors in setting an agenda that is supposed to fuel a “blue-collar boom” but that skeptics think will mostly benefit the rich. As Mr. Trump prepares to assume the presidency in January, business owners and investors are closely attuned to which of his economic promises he will ultimately follow through on. The selections of Mr. Bessent and Mr. Lutnick cement a hold by Wall Street executives over the two most important economic posts in any administration.
