CNN —The world’s tallest male dog, a Great Dane named Kevin, has died just days after his title was announced, Guinness World Records (GWR) said on Monday. His family, who live in West Des Moines, Iowa, have been left “devastated,” his owner Tracy Wolfe said in GWR press release. from Guinness World Records“I don’t think he’s aware he is as big as he is,” Tracy said earlier this month. Eventually, he was named the world’s tallest male dog, taking over the title from fellow Great Dane Zeus who also died aged three in September, after suffering from bone cancer. Great Danes have relatively short life expectancies compared to smaller dogs, living for an average of 8-10 years, and males are typically about 2.5 feet (0.76 meters) tall, according to the American Kennel Club.

Gill posted a new screenshot of his E-Trade portfolio on Reddit's Superstonk forum after the bell Thursday, showing that he is now holding 9.001 million GameStop shares and over $6 million in cash. On June 2, the first day he started disclosing his position in 2024's meme stock frenzy, his portfolio had 5 million shares as well as 120,000 call options against GameStop. He could have dumped all of 120,000 call contracts and used the proceeds to buy the additional shares, or he could have sold a portion of the massive options position and exercised the rest early.

New research has identified the largest known genome of any living organism in an unassuming fern found in New Caledonia, an island chain in the South Pacific Ocean. After analyzing related samples from New Zealand and Tasmania, Pellicer homed in on the New Caledonian fork fern as a potentially interesting target for study. Genome gigantism, or genome obesity, is extremely inefficient, the experts explain.
