After more than two years of a historically lean housing market, listings are starting to rise − and swiftly. It's not that sellers are rushing into the market; newly listed homes dropped 16% from a year ago, and pending listings are down 30%. A full 20% of listings now on Realtor.com have had a price cut − about twice the share as a year ago. Just over 60% of listings on Realtor.com in the third quarter of this year came from shoppers outside of a listing's area. There's also a takeaway for sellers in these areas – on a well-priced home, you could still see strong interest from these out-of-towners," added Hale.
The Connecticut electorate will not be voting to “unseal” ballots during November’s midterm elections, or to loosen election security measures. It has nothing to do with ballots and only to do with election results. “To be clear, ballots aren’t affected at all here; this has nothing to do with the ballots. The electorate in Connecticut will vote on whether to permit early in-person voting in the state. If passed, the initiative would also remove an antiquated requirement that election results be sealed with wax, but it would not affect any election security measures pertaining to ballots as claimed online.

Christopher Mattei, a lawyer for the 15 plaintiffs in the lawsuit against Jones, declined to comment on the filing Saturday, but said he and other attorneys for the Sandy Hook families will be filing a brief opposing Jones’ request. Twenty first graders and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School died in the attack on Dec. 14, 2012. The verdicts came after another jury in Texas in August ordered Jones and his company to pay nearly $50 million in damages to the parents of another slain Sandy Hook child. A third trial over the hoax claims, involving two more Sandy Hook parents, is expected to be held near the end of the year in Texas. Pattis, Jones’ lawyer, wrote in the motions filed Friday that there was a lack of evidence directly connecting Jones with the people who harassed and threatened the Sandy Hook families.

We’ve never seen this before, and it’s creating challenges,” Dr. Juan Salazar, executive vice president and physician-in-chief at Connecticut Children’s Hospital told WVIT. The rise in cases is also coming earlier in the year than doctors would usually expect.
As in Danchenko’s trial, Durham failed to convict Sussmann of making false statements to the FBI. And therein lies the reason underlying Durham’s losing trial record. On Monday, during Durham’s closing argument against Danchenko, the special prosecutor made a point of rebuking the FBI’s 2016 investigation. The Hartford Courant reported her concern about “pressure from Barr ... to produce results before the election.”Durham, however, stuck with Barr. And Barr’s energetic attempts after Jan. 6 to rehabilitate his image cannot erase his sad final legacy as a Trump enabler.

As a result, we’re seeing significantly elevated correlations between bond markets," said Andy Sparks, head of portfolio management research at MSCI. "The high level of correlation across global bond markets means that allocating to ex-U.S. bonds is that much less effective," said Gregory Peters, co-chief investment officer at PGIM Fixed Income. Peters doesn't expect the correlations to moderate until central banks' monetary policies diverge significantly, and he has reduced his exposure to sovereign bonds outside the U.S. "That's something that brings these global issues on U.S. investors' radars, because they are becoming first order market drivers." Martin Harvey, portfolio manager of the Hartford World Bond Fund, expects monetary policy regimes to start diverging next year.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Electronic cigarette maker Juul Labs will pay nearly $440 million to settle a two-year investigation by 33 states into the marketing of its high-nicotine vaping products, which have long been blamed for sparking a national surge in teen vaping. Additionally, Juul faces hundreds of personal suits brought on behalf of teenagers and others who say they became addicted to the company’s vaping products. Teen use of e-cigarettes skyrocketed after Juul’s launch in 2015, leading the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to declare an “epidemic” of underage vaping among teenagers. The biggest blow came earlier this summer when the FDA moved to ban all Juul e-cigarettes from the market. The deal also includes restrictions on where Juul products may be placed in stores, age verification on all sales and limits to online and retail sales.
