Former President Donald Trump repeated again and again debunked rumors related to Venezuelan gangs in a Colorado town during Tuesday night’s presidential debate. But the property management company that owns the buildings blamed a Venezuelan gang for the rundown conditions. Aurora police haven’t yet determined whether the men in the video belong to a Venezuelan gang, KUSA reported. PHILADELPHIA — Former President Donald Trump found out Tuesday night that he's got a much tougher rival on his hands now. Harris, eager to portray herself as different from both Trump and Biden, reminded him that Biden won't be on the ballot. Trump said Harris has had 3½ years to make the changes she promises to make and argued the Biden-Harris administration squandered progress Trump gave them. Trump and Harris also clashed over the 2020 election, with Trump again falsely claiming that he won. Throughout the debate, Harris needled Trump in ways that undermined his self-image as a popular, strong leader whom American’s adversaries fear.

Trump went on to repeat false claims that there was "so much proof" that he won the election. And he dodged when asked about whether he had any regrets about his actions on Jan. 6. Other Jan. 6 defendants continue to maintain their belief in Trump's election lies. Trump's inability to acknowledge the reality of his 2020 election loss, Harris said, raises questions about Trump's "temperament" and his "ability to not be confused about fact," calling it "deeply troubling." Trump, who has called Jan. 6 defendants "hostages" and "unbelievable patriots" and has said he'll pardon "a large portion" of Jan. 6 defendants, said Tuesday that Capitol riot defendants had been "treated so badly."

Since Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee, Trump has constantly attempted to portray her as weak on immigration and crime. On Friday, Harris also chose not to mention mass deportation during a radio interview with Univision, when the host asked her to summarize her argument to undecided Hispanic voters. “There is a way in which those [crime and immigration] issues in particular are also about bigger things,” said Adrianne Shropshire, executive director of BlackPAC, a group working to mobilize Black voters for Harris and Democrats. And many of those voters might recoil from these Trump policies on crime and immigration if they heard more about them. “What he is hoping is that the Black voters who he is [courting] don’t see that stuff,” Shropshire said.

The New Mexico attorney general has filed a lawsuit against Snap , alleging that the design and algorithmic recommendations of its social media app Snapchat "openly foster and promote illicit sexual material involving children and facilitate sextortion and the trafficking of children, drugs, and guns." The suit calls Snapchat "a breeding ground for predators to collect sexually explicit images of children and to find, groom and extort them." New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez, who has a pending lawsuit against Facebook owner Meta alleging the company enables the sexual exploitation of children, in a statement Thursday said, "Snap has misled users into believing that photos and videos sent on their platform will disappear, but predators can permanently capture this content and they have created a virtual yearbook of child sexual images that are traded, sold, and stored indefinitely." "Through our litigation against Meta and Snap, the New Mexico Department of Justice will continue to hold these platforms accountable for prioritizing profits over children's safety," Torrez said.

Ms. Ford, now 65, is serving a sentence of life without parole at the Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla. Leigh Goodmark, the author of the book “Imperfect Victims,” said that self-defense law imagines two parties of equal strength, size, weight and physical capability. But where self-defense law really fails to capture a woman’s experience is around the question of imminence. For women like Ms. Ford, Ms. Ayobi and many others, killing their way out of a relationship was an act of salvation — for themselves, for their children.
