It has since emerged that the attacker had been ordered to leave Belgium in 2021. Bernard Clerfayt, a Brussels minister who is also the mayor of the Brussels borough where the killings took place, called for de Moor's resignation. Official figures showed that only 5,497 of the 25,292 people who received an order to leave Belgium in 2022 have respected it. “With President Trump back in office, Israel, and everyone else, will be safe again!” he said. Trump’s original grievance-based analysis reflects a transactional, unorthodox approach to foreign policy that often prioritizes his own personal goals over a standard understanding of the national interest. Trump’s comments were not the first time he has appeared to seek a political benefit from his foreign policy and his positions on Israel especially. They also show Trump’s quintessential contempt for the rules of politics, foreign policy and even basic human decency, which explain why he horrifies many Americans and foreign governments. “He’s simply not expressing, and his imitators in his primary, are not expressing the same muscular American foreign policy that we lived out every day,” Pence said on a local New Hampshire radio.

From our home in Denver, my wife, three kids and I often travel to visit family in Florida, California, Georgia and New York. And when I travel for work as a professional credit card reviewer and consultant, I often bring a kid or two along. My path to companion pass bliss came through Southwest credit cards, such as the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card, but frequent flights can also get you there. As our family grew, my wife also began earning a Companion Pass, allowing the whole family to travel at a steep discount. For example, the Southwest Rapid Rewards Priority Credit Card offers 50,000 bonus points when you spend just $1,000 in the first three months.

[1/5] Chinese President Xi Jinping toasts to guests during a reception dinner at the Great Hall of the People ahead of China's National Day in Beijing, China on September 28, 2023. Since assuming the office of president in March 2013, Xi has previously delivered a speech twice at the annual reception, usually held on the eve of National Day on Oct. 1. The first time Xi delivered it was in 2014 during a reception with over 3,000 guests, far more than the 1,200 normal at that time. In 2019, Xi again delivered a speech at the reception, which that year marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. At Thursday's reception, Xi told his guests that China must continue to climb over "obstacles" as his current premier, Li Qiang, listened intently at his banquet table, according to footage aired by China's national broadcaster.

CNN —Canada has expelled a top Indian diplomat from the country, after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described “credible allegations” linking India’s government to the assassination of a Canadian citizen and prominent Sikh leader. The Indian diplomat’s expulsion was confirmed by Canada’s foreign affairs minister, Mélanie Joly, who also confirmed that the individual is the head of the Indian intelligence agency in Canada. Trudeau also said Monday that he had brought Canada’s concerns over the assassination “personally and directly” to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week at the G20. “Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty,” he said.
