ATLANTA — The election could be decided in Georgia’s fastest-growing and most ethnically diverse county. Vice President Kamala Harris’ economic pitch has heavily emphasized small-business owners, and those in Gwinnett County — one of the “Decider” counties NBC News is tracking — acknowledge they could use more support. So far, many like what Harris is offering, though some remain undecided just over a week before Election Day. The county is exceptionally diverse, with no single ethnic group comprising more than a third of residents, according to 2020 census data. She also kicked off an “Economic Opportunity Tour” in Atlanta this summer, highlighting the administration’s economic accomplishments for Black communities.

Idris Elba has shared more on his plans to help build the entertainment industry in Africa. The Golden Globe winner has said he planned to build film studios in Ghana and Tanzania. A 2021 UNESCO report said that the film industry could help add $20 billion to Africa's combined GDP. "I would certainly consider settling down here; not even consider, it's going to happen," he continued, adding: "I'm going to live in Accra, I'm going to live in Freetown, I'm going to live in Zanzibar. Africa's film industry is growing rapidly, and certain major streaming successes, such as Netflix's Nigerian crime thriller "The Black Book," offer increasing optimism for the sector.

Realtor.com identified the top 10 places in the US with the lowest cost of living. Small cities in the South and Midwest dominate the list, with a Texas city taking the top spot. While the cost of living varies widely from state to state and city to city, several spots across the US can offer residents a comfortable standard of living with prices that don't break the bank. "Home prices in these areas were $100,000 or more below the national median in September," Hannah Jones, senior economic research analyst at Realtor.com, said in the report. I didn't have a car, and doing work exchanges kept my fixed costs a fraction of what I spent in the US.
