"There's a lot of parallels to the story of Nest," Rogers said.
However, because Mill handles the entire process from homes to farms, it faces many challenges not found in other food waste startups, Rogers said.
And although the company's coffers are well-stocked in a tough market environment, Rogers told Insider that he's always open to conversations with investors.
