Bryan Kohberger, the man accused in the murders of four University of Idaho students, was transported by plane Sunday morning from the Idaho county where he was being jailed to another county where his trial will be held. Latah County District Judge John Judge had ruled in favor of lawyers for Kohberger, 29, who argued a trial in Latah County would be unfair because of the intense pretrial publicity creating a "mob mentality" against the defendant. "While the issue of extensive, sensationalized coverage is not unique to Latah County," Judge added, "it is potentially more impactful given the volume of coverage coupled with the smaller population." Despite the change, Latah County prosecutors and Kohberger's public defenders are expected to remain through the trial. Some of the victims' families have expressed frustration over the trial's delay and had pressed for the case to remain in Latah County so that its residents could represent the jury.

The trial of the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students will be moved out of the county where the killings took place in late 2022, a judge ruled in a decision released Monday. Latah County District Judge John Judge heard arguments last month about whether the trial of Bryan Kohberger, tentatively set for next June, should be moved to Ada County, about 300 miles south and home to Idaho’s capital, Boise. Remains found in a tomb in northwestern Spain are likely to belong to a ninth-century bishop believed to have helped create the Camino de Santiago, one of Christianity’s most popular pilgrimages, a new study has found. News of the discovery reached King Alfonso II of the neighboring region of Asturias, who marched with his court from Oviedo to Santiago. The 90 mile royal pilgrimage established what is today known as the “Primitive Way”, the oldest path used by pilgrims of the Camino, or Way of St. James. Theodomir’s existence had been hotly debated until 1955, when Spanish archaeologist Manuel Chamoso Lamas discovered a tombstone underneath Santiago de Compostela’s cathedral inscribed with his name. Perez-Ramallo told El Pais newspaper that there was a “98% likelihood of it being Theodomir.”

A brave mom who was attacked by a grizzly bear while jogging said her 2-year-old daughter was her inspiration to survive. The mother of a newborn baby discovered dead in a dumpster in California nearly 40 years ago has been arrested, accused of murder after she was identified using DNA technology. The newborn baby girl was found by a man rummaging for recyclables in a dumpster behind a business in the 5400 block of La Sierra Avenue in Riverside on Oct. 13, 1987, Riverside Police said. The department was aided by Season of Justice, a nonprofit that provides financial aid for investigative agencies and families to solve cold cases using DNA analysis and forensic genealogy. Avila, who was 19 at the time of the child’s death, was located across the country in Shelby, North Carolina. “Thanks to the persistent efforts of our investigators and partners, this victim now has an identity, bringing resolution to the case,” Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez said in a statement.
