A series of fortuitous eventsWhen the train arrived in Paris, Erin and her seat neighbor went their separate ways, and Erin figured she’d never see him again. It’s called the Generator, and it has a great rooftop bar.’ And I love rooftop bars, so I remembered that.”Erin returned to the US, and she quickly lost touch with her train friend. Jordan figured the reviews were decent, the prices OK – and the rooftop bar looked appealing. “Then, that night, there was a party, an organized event on the rooftop,” Erin recalls. By then, fall had arrived, and Jordan’s summer stint at the rooftop bar was ending.

Ric Tapia | Getty Images Sport | Getty ImagesSports team owners benefiting from soaring team values are also facing new pressure from two of the oldest certainties in American wealth: death and taxes. With the average age of team owners rising, and team values skyrocketing into the billions, owners and leagues are increasingly focused on how to ensure smooth ownership transitions to the next generation of buyers. Succession and taxes have become especially important in the National Football League, where the average age of team owners is now over 72 and team values are all surging. The average NFL team is now worth $6.49 billion, and no team is valued at less than $5.25 billion, according to CNBC's Official 2024 NFL Team Valuations. New research suggests doing so may even benefit your heart health, amounting to a 19% lower risk of developing heart disease, according to a research abstract published Thursday. Sleeping in on weekends may lower your risk of developing heart disease later in life, new research suggests. Other experts suggested people still address inconsistent sleep patterns since it can affect more than just heart health. “Sleep is restorative and a key component of heart health preservation.”There are still other unanswered questions, Gulati said: Is there a threshold of too much sleep on the weekend? “To promote heart health, it’s recommended to aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night and maintain a consistent sleep pattern,” Goldberg said.

The letter was posted on the committee's Facebook page and on its account on the X social media platform on Monday. The Biden administration "pressured" Facebook parent Meta to "censor" content related to Covid-19, the social media giant's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg , alleged, adding that he regrets some of the decisions taken in relation to the U.S. government's requests. NBC News has reached out to the White House for comment Tuesday morning, but did not immediately receive a response. That year, the White House criticized social media firms, including Facebook, for allowing misinformation related to the coronavirus to spread across their platforms. Zuckerberg's letter underscores the ongoing debate about the extent to which social media firms should moderate content.

Jacobs started monitoring changes to her blood sugar with the help of a device called a continuous glucose monitor — an increasingly trendy wearable. Continuous glucose monitors, or CGMs for short, were FDA-approved in 1999 for people with diabetes to keep constant tabs on their blood sugar levels. Your blood sugar level measures how much glucose is in your blood, which comes from breaking down carbohydrates you eat for energy. After reading about how age-related hormone changes can affect blood sugar, she started tracking hers, and noticed a pattern. Research doesn't support the fear that rising blood sugar after a meal is cause for concern in otherwise healthy people.

While locking their credit won't solve all cybersecurity issues related to stolen Social Security numbers, it's one extra layer of protection parents can implement. Parents can take these steps proactively even if there's nothing to suggest a minor's credit has been compromised such as unexpected credit card solicitations or bills received in the minor's name. It can take some time and effort to lock a child's credit, but the outlay is minimal compared with what can be a lengthy and emotional credit restoration process. Locking a child's credit won't protect against all of these, but it's a solid step in the right direction, financial professionals said. To check to see if their child has a credit report, parents can mail a letter with their request to each of the credit bureaus.
