Goldman recently surveyed 1,000 U.S. consumers about their holiday shopping plans, sorted by channel, products and retailers. "We continue to see a healthy holiday shopping backdrop for retailers that offer strong value and innovation across their assortments," Roach said. Amazon remains one of the most popular retail destinations for holiday shopping, attracting slightly more interest compared to the prior year, according to Goldman. Target, another forecasted retail winner this season from Goldman, has lagged its retail peers this year, down 8% in 2024. Wrangler brand owner Kontoor Brands was also among Goldman's buy-rated picks that it thinks can offer strong value and product innovation.

The domestic box office is poised for its biggest Thanksgiving haul since the pandemic thanks to a Polynesian princess, a pair of witches and a revenge-fueled gladiator. Disney's "Moana 2" is set to hit theaters Wednesday and generate between $120 million and $150 million in box office receipts in the U.S. and Canada through Sunday. Box office analysts believe the five-day Thanksgiving weekend, which runs from Wednesday to Sunday, should easily clear $200 million in ticket sales and could even become the second- or third-highest Thanksgiving period in cinematic history. After ruling the Thanksgiving box office for years with titles from Pixar and Disney Animation, it's failed to live up to expectations with its recent string of releases. In 2016, "Moana" opened over the Thanksgiving holiday, generating $82.1 million.

The US government tracks what percentage of each car’s parts is made “domestically.” But under current trade law, both Canadian-made parts and US-made parts are counted as the same domestic content. “Yes, it’s America’s truck, assembled in America, but not with American parts,” Ivan Drury, director of insights for Edmunds, told CNN. Domestic parts could be tough to findFinding domestic supplies for many of the imported car parts would be difficult. Even if an American parts supply could be found, in most cases it would be more expensive. Fewer imported cars would raise all pricesTariffs on imported vehicles likely would also lead to higher prices on cars that are assembled here, since it would limit the supply of vehicles in the US market.

Is bald Reddit the nicest place on the internet?
  + stars: | 2024-11-27 | by ( Oscar Holland | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +6 min
CNN —The internet isn’t as nice a place as it used to be. Reddit’s r/bald is a 143,000-strong community (comprised mostly of, presumably, bald men) offering advice, support and encouragement to those who’ve taken, or are considering taking, “the plunge” by shaving off their thinning hair. “If there was a top 10 of bald glow ups, you’d be in there somewhere,” reads one of the 13,000 replies. Friends and loved ones may tell us how great we’d look bald but, sadly, we often care more about what strangers (rather than people whose opinions really matter) think of us. There are other ways in which the platform’s design encourages courteous behavior among bald men and beyond.
