BEIJING, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Former party chief and chairman of China Everbright Group Li Xiaopeng was expelled from the Communist Party and his post for severe violations of discipline and law including bribery, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported on Monday. Li is the latest Chinese financial executive found guilty under President Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign that has in recent years targeted the country's financial institutions. China's anti-graft body said in April that Li was under investigation for possible law violations. Li's punishment came days after China's ruling Communist Party expelled the former chairman of Bank of China from the party, accusing him of illegal activities and taking bribes. SHENZHEN, China, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Huawei-backed electric vehicle (EV) brand Aito has received more than 50,000 orders for its revamped M7 model within the first 25 days since it went on sale, the company said. The orders, which required a non-refundable deposit, would put Aito among China's five top-selling new energy vehicle manufacturers, based on sales data for August. The Aito brand, which Huawei makes in partnership with Seres Group (601127.SS), launched the M7 in July last year. As of June, Aito had shipped just 27,405 of the original M7, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Huawei's intelligent automotive solution business brought in one billion yuan revenue in the first half of this year, a tiny fraction of the 310.9 billion yuan ($42.63 billion) its total business earned over that period, the company said in August.

In September, leisure and hospitality helped drive job growth higher, with 96,000 jobs added. Today’s headline jobs number — that surprising 336,000 net job gain — is an initial estimate that will be revised twice more. The surprising September jobs report, however, didn’t continue that streak. August’s second look has job growth now at 227,000 for the month, an increase of 40,000.

Trudeau also said Ottawa had already reached out to Kyiv and Zelenskiy through diplomatic channels to apologize. The Kremlin earlier in the day said the whole Canadian parliament should publicly condemn Nazism. The official opposition Conservatives say Trudeau was ultimately responsible for what happened, given he had invited Zelenskiy to address the Canadian parliament, and accused him of negligence.

Trudeau also said Ottawa had already reached out to Kyiv and Zelenskiy through diplomatic channels to apologize. Hunka, 98, was a Polish-born Ukrainian who served in one of Adolf Hitler's Waffen SS units during World War Two. Trudeau said the Liberal government had no responsibility for vetting who the speaker had invited. The official opposition Conservatives say Trudeau was ultimately responsible for what happened, given he had invited Zelenskiy to address the Canadian parliament, and accused him of negligence.

HONG KONG, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Swiss banking group UBS (UBSG.S) said on Tuesday it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the world's largest lender by assets, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) (601398.SS), , to explore strategic collaborations in China and overseas markets. The banks will explore cooperation in asset management, wealth management, and investment and corporate banking, according to a UBS statement.
