Nov 14 (Reuters) - The Hungarian football federation slammed the Bulgarian federation for "unsportsmanlike" conduct as Thursday's Euro 2024 qualifier match was moved from Plovdiv to Sofia on Tuesday. The Hungarian FA called hosts Bulgarian Football Union's (BFU) actions "unprecedented, totally unjustified and grossly unsportsmanlike" in a statement. "It is not even possible to organise a family holiday in this way, let alone an international football match with a huge stake, involving millions of people," it added. "UEFA ordered that the match will be played behind closed doors at the Vasil Levski stadium in Sofia," the BFU said on Tuesday. Bulgaria are bottom with two points as they look to secure a qualifying playoff berth in their remaining matches against Hungary and Serbia.

The superhero factory hit a new low with the weekend launch of “The Marvels,” which opened with just $47 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Our Merch, Ourselves

Why do we buy merch, or shy away from it? What does the merch you wear say about who you are, what you believe in? Carrying the bag in your own city seemed too boosterish, too earnest for a New Yorker, whereas outside the city, the local merch telegraphs your hometown pride and N.Y.C. Once you leave the place, the merch becomes a souvenir, a nostalgic keepsake. Debating the laws of merch is a diversion, an amusing exercise in questioning our own pieties.

Though she made the image four and a half decades ago, “Woman with Blue Bow” seems strikingly contemporary — a timeless symbol on the strictures of femininity. Callis' early color work explored restriction and desire at the height of the feminist art movement. But by then she was well positioned to occupy the rarefied worlds of alternative film, fashion and music, insulated from snarky criticism and the crassness of commercial demands. I don’t see the presence of these rarefied worlds — either in her biography or as depicted on the screen — as a shortcoming. Arguably, Ms. Coppola is exceptional as an artist because nobody among her contemporaries succeeds in preserving that pristine air the way she does, especially when used to embody an explicitly feminine worldview. There may be a rebelliousness in this stillness, and a romance — of taking up things and pondering them in your heart. But on the most basic level, what Ms. Hirschberg described as a strength is a tendency to abstain, to not do something — a tendency shared by many of Ms. Coppola’s protagonists.

Data from NASA's Magellan spacecraft and Pioneer Venus Orbiter is used in an undated composite image of the planet Venus. Its thick and noxious atmosphere is dominated by carbon dioxide - 96.5% - with lesser amounts of nitrogen and trace gases. In fact, with Venus getting far less scientific attention than other planets such as Mars, the direct detection of its oxygen has remained difficult. They noted that this atomic oxygen, which consists of a single oxygen atom, differs from molecular oxygen, which consists of two oxygen atoms and is breathable. "The Venus atmosphere is very dense.

The Heart of ‘Priscilla’ Is for Sale
  + stars: | 2023-11-06 | by ( Jessica Testa | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
It is curious how some things never go out of style. Throughout the first act of the new movie “Priscilla,” when the titular heroine is still living in Germany with her parents, she wears one thing almost every day: a heart-shaped locket tied around her neck on a black ribbon. Then, as she is courted by Elvis Presley, the necklace reflects her infatuation: She argues with her parents about him, doodles his name and writes him letters, waits for him to call. In 1960, at age 14, Priscilla Presley wore it in a photograph while clutching an Elvis record. In her memoir, “Elvis and Me,” the basis for Sofia Coppola’s movie, Ms. Presley wrote of a gold locket that she cherished, originally given to her mother by her deceased biological father.
