On the campaign trial, Trump threatened to impose additional tariffs of 60% or more on Chinese goods sold to the U.S. She expects a stimulus package of more than 10 trillion yuan ($1.39 billion), with about 6 trillion yuan going towards local government debt swaps and bank recapitalization. More than 4 trillion yuan will likely go towards local government special bonds for supporting real estate, Su said. That divergence in stock performance indicates China's stimulus "will be slightly bigger than the baseline scenario," said Liqian Ren, who leads WisdomTree's quantitative investment capabilities. She estimates Beijing will add about 2 trillion yuan to 3 trillion yuan a year in support.

Arizona voters on Tuesday approved an amendment enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution, NBC News projects. A fundamental right to abortion is part of the Arizona Constitution once and for all. In April, the conservative-leaning Arizona Supreme Court ruled to reinstate a near-total ban on abortion from 1864. Arizona for Abortion Access, the coalition of reproductive rights organizations behind the ballot effort, had shattered the record for the number of valid signatures gathered for a ballot initiative in the state. Constitutional amendments to enshrine abortion rights were on the general election ballots in nine other states Tuesday: Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York and South Dakota.

Former Sen. Kelly Ayotte has won the New Hampshire governor’s race, NBC News projects, defeating Democrat Joyce Craig to keep the seat in Republican hands. Ayotte will succeed Republican Gov. Ayotte lost her re-election battle in 2016 to now-Sen. Maggie Hassan, a Democrat, by only about a thousand votes. She got her start in politics by serving on the Board of School Committee in Manchester, before serving as an alderman for six years. Craig and Ayotte won their parties’ primaries in September, leaving them with only about eight weeks to campaign in the general election period.

CNN —Republican former Sen. Kelly Ayotte will win the New Hampshire governor’s race, CNN projects, completing a political comeback eight years after she lost her Senate seat. Ayotte defeated Democratic former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig in the race to replace outgoing GOP Gov. The race was a test of whether local interests or the national political atmosphere would play the most important role in influencing Granite State voters. Democrats attempted to nationalize it, tying Ayotte to former President Donald Trump and attacking her on abortion rights. Hillary Clinton won there by just half a point in 2016, but President Joe Biden won by 7 points in 2020.
