Not every corner of the plant-based food industry has been burned. After the boom-and-bust cycle of Beyond Meat stock, analysts have wondered what comes next for the plant-based food space. The alternative protein market Beyond Meat's struggles have left some skeptical about which companies have what it takes to meet the needs of consumers who want to avoid animal-based products for health or environmental reasons. After topping $230 per share at its highest point, Beyond Meat stock now trades below $7. There's a business argument beyond the alternative protein market that can bode well when forecasting demand, Morningstar's Goldstein said.

Morgan Stanley chief investment officer Michael Wilson is all too aware of these many problems the market is facing. But broadly, Wilson and his peers are hopeful that the economy will continue to grow next year, spurring earnings growth along with it, pushing stocks higher. Wilson believes that margin expansion will underpin earnings growth next year. "Once that happens, however, and demand begins to recover, positive operating leverage resumes and drives margin expansion and earnings growth." He narrowed his search to stocks in the top 20% of earnings stability, stocks in the top 20% of earnings quality, and stocks that were rated overweight by Morgan Stanley analysts.

REUTERS/Kamil Krzaczynski/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNov 17 (Reuters) - U.S. retailers are gearing up for Black Friday, marking the start of the shopping season that follows the Thanksgiving holiday, while business activity data should gauge the temperature elsewhere. 1/ BARGAIN HUNTINGThe crucial holiday shopping season kicks off with Black Friday on Nov. 24 at a time when investors are questioning whether the consumer-driven U.S. economy can remain resilient. This year's Black Friday comes as Americans grapple with soaring interest rates and inflation that, while easing, remains above the Federal Reserve's 2% target. Already, data for October showed U.S. retail sales fell, pointing to slowing demand, although the decline was less than expected. As long as that's not the case, pressure is on the Kishida cabinet since a weak yen is unpopular politically.

Consumers are still spending — in fact, they're spending more than they are earning — as employment levels and hourly wage growth remain fairly strong . In 2021, Republicans retook the Virginia House. The Virginia Senate wasn’t up in 2021 – state senators face their voters every four years. That one time was in 2011, when the two parties ended up tied in the state Senate, with the Republican lieutenant governor serving as the tie-breaker. watch nowThe Federal Reserve left its target federal funds rate unchanged for the second consecutive time Wednesday. What the federal funds rate means for youThe federal funds rate, which is set by the central bank, is the interest rate at which banks borrow and lend to one another overnight. To a certain extent, many households have been shielded from the brunt of the Fed's rate hikes so far, House said. As the federal funds rate rose, the prime rate did as well, and credit card rates followed suit. If the 10-year yield stays near 5%, federal student loan interest rates could increase again when they reset in the spring, costing student borrowers even more in interest.
