Earlier this year, Apple became the first major BNPL provider to start reporting all user account information to a credit reporting agency. Providers including AfterPay, Affirm and Klarna already report some loans to the credit bureaus and experts say more are likely to follow, paving the way for a consumer's BNPL history to factor into their credit history and ultimately their credit score. TikTok is starting to automatically label videos and images made with artificial intelligence, the company said on Thursday. AI-generated content on the app will now be tagged with "Content Credentials," a digital watermarking technology from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity, TikTok said in a press release. "Content Credentials attach metadata to content, which we can use to instantly recognize and label [AI-generated content]," TikTok said. TikTok already labels content made with its in-app AI effects and requires creators to label any content they produce containing realistic AI. This latest move will expand automatic labeling to AI-generated content uploaded from other platforms.

In the last few days, you may have noticed something new inside Meta’s apps, including Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp: an artificially intelligent chatbot. This is Meta’s response to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the chatbot that upended the tech industry in 2022, and similar bots including Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Bing AI. The Meta bot’s image generator also competes with A.I. Unlike other chatbots and image generators, Meta’s A.I. assistant is a free tool baked into apps that billions of people use every day, making it the most aggressive push yet from a big tech company to bring this flavor of artificial intelligence — known as generative A.I.

This week, ADBE flashed the dreaded "death cross" signal — a pattern that typically points to further downside — with the 50-day moving average crossing down through the 200-day moving average. Adobe created a classic double top pattern in January, when the stock retested the December 2023 high around $630 and failed to break above this resistance level. It's worth noting that the death cross observed this week happened only after the stock had established a clear downtrend of lower highs and lower lows. This support level, just below $500, aligns well with the September 2023 price low. Back in 2022, a similar death cross resulted in an additional 45% drop for Adobe before the eventual low was established.

For fiscal year 2023, credit card revenue totaled $619 million for Macy's and approximately $475 million for Nordstrom . The three companies do not break out how much of total credit card revenue comes from late fees. All of that adds up to dwindling credit card revenue for retailers, who can now expect to see it shrink even further. Target's credit card revenue fell to $667 million last year, down from $734 million in the prior fiscal year. Gap does not disclose credit card revenue, but its Chief Financial Officer, Katrina O'Connell, said on an earnings call that losses from late fees will be "largely offset in 2024 by other levers within our credit card program."

IBM aims to be "client zero" of the AI products it sells to clients, marketing chief Jonathan Adashek said. He said AI has augmented the work IBM staffers do and even made its ads more effective. In April 2020, our CEO Arvind Krishna said IBM is going to be the leading hybrid cloud and AI company. That means acquisitions, that means divestitures, that means prioritizing some areas of work over others. BOSTON (AP) — In a scathing indictment of Microsoft corporate security and transparency, a Biden administration-appointed review board issued a report Tuesday saying “a cascade of errors” by the tech giant let state-backed Chinese cyber operators break into email accounts of senior U.S. officials including Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. It concluded that “Microsoft's security culture was inadequate and requires an overhaul" given the company's ubiquity and critical role in the global technology ecosystem. Three think tanks and four foreign government entities, including Britain's National Cyber Security Center, were among those compromised, it said. Separately, the board expressed concern about a separate hack disclosed by the Redmond, Washington, company in January — this one of email accounts including those of an undisclosed number of senior Microsoft executives and an undisclosed number of Microsoft customers and attributed to state-backed Russian hackers. The board lamented “a corporate culture that deprioritized both enterprise security investments and rigorous risk management.”The Chinese hack was initially disclosed in July by Microsoft in a blog post and carried out by a group the company calls Storm-0558.
