Nvidia, on the other hand, recently leapfrogged Intel as the biggest chipmaker by revenue, creating a clear one-for-one swap opportunity. With Intel being the only chipmaker in the index, the sector is underrepresented relative to its position in the economy. Nvidia positioned itself to join the Dow in May, when the company announced a 10-for-1 stock split. Amazon joined the Dow in January, giving the internet sector greater representation in the index. With so much at stake, CNN has identified 10 races to watch on Tuesday – grouped into buckets that nod to broader themes across the House landscape. Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger decided against seeking a fourth term, instead launching a campaign for governor in 2025. Democratic Rep. Jared Golden has crafted a moderate profile by challenging his party on issues ranging from spending to immigration. This year she faces a challenge from GOP state Rep. Gabe Evans, a fellow Mexican American and a former Army helicopter pilot and police officer. GOP Rep. Zach Nunn, an Air Force officer, was first elected in 2022 – defeating Democratic Rep. Cindy Axne by about 2,000 votes.

Gary Allen Montelongo won $10,000 for a science project on train derailment. Montelongo built and coded an experiment on railroad suspension, then won a national competition. AdvertisementThe internship ended, but Montelongo couldn't get the derailment off his mind, so he went down to the train tracks near his house. This mimicked the different suspension systems he'd seen at the train tracks near his home.

Two starkly different House candidates, in separate races, personify the intensifying ideological partitioning occurring within the once strongly Democratic constituency of Latino voters, whose numbers are growing. Their highly competitive races, along with a few other California congressional races, have pushed Latino voters to the front lines of the bitter fight for control of the House. “We have centered on Latino voters in our campaign,” said Whitesides, whose wife is of Cuban and Salvadoran heritage. In the same poll, 52% of Latino voters in District 27 said they support Whitesides, compared to 24% for Garcia and 24% completely undecided. Intel’s shares (INTC) have declined 54% this year, making it the worst performer on the index and leaving it with the lowest stock price on the price-weighted Dow. The stock fell about 1% in extended trading on Friday, while Nvidia (NVDA) was up 1.5%. Launched in 1968, the Silicon Valley pioneer sold memory chips before switching to processors that helped launch the personal computer industry. In the 1990s, “Intel Inside” stickers turned commodity electronic components into premium products and eventually became ubiquitous on laptops.
