In 2017, real-estate brokers in the historically Black New York neighborhood of Harlem sparked backlash when they tried to rebrand its south end as SoHa. CNN —Despite a surge in hiring last year, air traffic control stations nationwide are still about 3,000 controllers short, according to new Federal Aviation Administration numbers. The staffing plans developed by the FAA and the union representing air traffic controllers calls for more than 14,600 controllers to fully staff towers and centers. But at the same time, its air traffic control organization lost more than 1,300 employees, including controllers who retired or candidates who dropped out of training. The union president representing air traffic controllers said that after accounting for departures, the agency netted an increase of only six new controllers that year. It also instructs the FAA to install additional simulators at air traffic control sites to speed up training progress.

CNN —At least five people were killed and more than 30 injured in a Russian missile attack on the Black Sea port city of Odesa on Monday, Ukrainian authorities say. Ukrainian authorities believe Russia used an Iskander ballistic missile and cluster munitions to carry out the attack. He added that “the investigation has grounds to believe” the Russian military used cluster munitions with the intention of inflicting large number of casualties. The use, transfer, and production of cluster munitions is prohibited by an international treaty known as the Convention on Cluster Munitions. Russia claims interceptMeanwhile, Russian officials say air defenses in Crimea succeeded in intercepting a major missile and drone attack by Ukraine.
