The DOJ has released a less redacted document underpinning the search warrant at Mar-a-Lago. A judge ordered the less redacted FBI affidavit's release after news organizations filed a motion for it to be unsealed. These details were redacted in the initial version of the affidavit that was released last year, shortly after the Mar-a-Lago search and before Trump was formally charged. The less redacted affidavit also lays out how investigators sought and were granted security camera footage of the area where the storage unit is located. Reinhart ordered Wednesday's release of the less redacted affidavit following a push from numerous news organizations.

A new study found that time appeared to move five times slower in the early days of the universe. Scientists used quasars — enormously bright supermassive black holes — to arrive at their findings. The researchers used quasars — supermassive black holes that feed on gas and are among the brightest known celestial objects — to arrive at their finding. Quasars "are crucial to understanding the early universe," one astronomer said in 2018. Albert Einstein, in his general theory of relativity, predicted that we live in an expanding universe, where time was slower in its early years, and now the researchers in this study observed that.

The Supreme Court ruled that a wedding website owner in Colorado has the right to refuse service to LGBTQ couples. The New Republic spoke to the "gay" man in the case, who says he's straight and married with children. "I wouldn't want anybody to ... make me a wedding website?" But somebody's using false information in a Supreme Court filing document." The court's ruling in the case was 6-3, led by the conservative justices who now dominate the high court.

The Supreme Court struck down affirmative action policies at Harvard and UNC. Thomas said he's aware of the obstacles faced by 'my race,' but ruled affirmative action was discriminatory. Thomas declared "the Constitution prevails" in his opinion as the Supreme Court effectively outlawed affirmative action at US colleges and universities. In a 6-3 decision, the high court ruled that policies at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina were unconstitutional. Thomas then wrote affirmative action is also discrimination, calling the policies "rudderless, race-based preferences designed to ensure a particular racial mix in" Harvard and UNC's "entering classes."

Trump is testing out a new strategy as he faces a 37-count indictment: publicly calling himself a liar. He told ABC News that "it was bravado" when he appeared to show off "highly confidential" information to aides during a 2021 meeting. But Tuesday's interview with ABC is the first time Trump has publicly said that he lied about having classified government material. Prosecutors didn't buy that excuse — and Trump didn't buy it either, according to the indictment. "See, as president, I could have declassified it," Trump told his aides during the 2021 meeting, referring to a Pentagon document he allegedly showed off.

The DOJ's watchdog released a report detailing the circumstances leading up to Jeffrey Epstein's death. The report confirms that Epstein died by suicide and was not strangled, as some have speculated. The report, however, slams federal officials for failing to prevent Epstein's death. The Supreme Court struck down a fringe right-wing elections theory in a 6-3 ruling. Two lawmakers in the state asked the Supreme Court to take up the case based on the independent state legislature theory. But the balance of power shifted on the North Carolina Supreme Court, which went back and allowed the map. Thomas wrote that with the original case now decided in the lawmakers' favor, the argument before the Supreme Court was "moot." In his dissent, Thomas wrote that the court's purpose is to "resolve not questions and issues but 'Cases' or 'Controversies.'"

It's likely too risky to try recovering the remains of Titan's passengers, an ROV expert said. The search for the sub near the Titanic has already cost millions; recovery would cost even more. The five passengers on the Titan sub were British billionaire Hamish Harding, French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet, British businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, and the CEO of OceanGate Expeditions Stockton Rush. The Titan submersible had made three previous trips down to the wreckage. But shortly after the vessel vanished Sunday, key questions began emerging about the design and operation of the Titan.

Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote an impassioned dissent comparing the plight of the Navajos to the experience of "any American who has spent time at the Department of Motor Vehicles." The high court ruled 5-4 in Arizona v. Navajo Nation on Thursday that under an 1868 treaty, the US is not required secure water for the Navajo Nation. But Gorsuch wrote in his dissent that the majority "rejects a request the Navajo Nation never made." Gorsuch wrote, however, that "the relief the Tribe seeks is far more modest." And at 26 pages, his dissent in Arizona v. Navajo Nation was twice as long as the majority opinion.

Greg Abbott signed a law shutting down diversity offices at state-funded universities. A GOP lawmaker behind the legislation said the "bold" and "forward-thinking" measure will help Texas focus on the "strength of diversity." Creighton's office did not immediately respond when asked how the law will focus schools on "the strength of diversity." It mandates that beginning in January, all state-funded universities must shut down their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) offices, mandatory DEI statements, and diversity training. Any public college or university that doesn't shut down those offices loses its access to state funds, according to the law.

Like Trump, Biden has faced his own drip, drip, drip of revelations in the case, and questions about his role. It's unusual for the Justice Department to prosecute someone for mishandling classified records without evidence of so-called aggravating factors, such as obstruction of justice or willful violation, Insider's Sonam Sheth has reported. And in the unlikely event the special counsel does seek charges, Biden as the current president would be shielded from a criminal prosecution until when he's left office.
