Actorul american George Segal, nominalizat în 1967 la premiul Oscar pentru cel mai bun actor în rol secundar pentru interpretarea sa din filmul "Who's Affraid of Virginia Woolf? George Segal a decedat din cauza "complicaţiilor apărute în urma unei operaţii de bypass cardiac", a declarat soţia artistului, Sonia, într-un comunicat. Născut pe 17 februarie 1934 într-un orăşel din statul New York, George Segal a debutat în film la începutul anilor 1960 cu un mic rol în "The Longest Day", o frescă epică din 1962 despre Debarcarea din Normandia. "If there's the least little bit of rust, you're going to get that fixed immediately so it doesn't spread — because you know it has to last you as long as you live."
