The ex-girlfriend of former Marvel actor Jonathan Majors has dropped a lawsuit that accused him of assault and defamation, according to court records filed in New York Thursday. The emerging star, who appeared in boxing drama "Creed III," was convicted in December 2023 on two counts of misdemeanor assault against Grace Jabbari, who said Majors attacker her in the back of an SUV. Majors played supervillain Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel movie franchise and was due to reprise the role in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” slated for 2026. Attorneys for both Jabbari and Majors did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Majors was given the Perseverance Award at the annual Impact Awards in Hollywood in June.

“They made themselves nuclear,” Howard Lutnick, the co-chair of Trump’s transition and his nominee to serve as Commerce Secretary, told CNBC in September. But with the campaign over, Trump’s transition team is turning to Project 2025 to help staff the next administration. Both Homan and Ratcliffe were listed as contributors to Project 2025, while Carr authored a chapter on the FCC. Brendan Carr, a contributor to Project 2025, is Trump's pick to lead the Federal Communications Commission. Microsoft President Brad Smith has urged Donald Trump to protect the US from Russian, Chinese, and Iranian cyber attacks. He said that Joe Biden's administration had made "tremendous progress" on the issue, but added that more steps were needed to dissuade and deter countries from "unleashing these cyber attacks." Smith's appeals come as the US faces an ongoing wave of cyber attacks that have targeted government agencies, election campaigns, and businesses. and in some cases even facilitated" such attacks, Smith told the FT. Yelloh, Formerly Schwan’s Home Delivery, Closes

Yelloh, the frozen food delivery service formerly called Schwan’s Home Delivery, which had once been known for its reach with rural Americans and its direct-to-consumer business model, is closing its doors on Friday after decades of decline. Minnesota-based Yelloh was born on March 18, 1952 when its founder, Marvin Schwan, delivered 14 gallons of ice cream. The service’s popularity exploded over the years and later foods frozen at their peak made it onto the menu. The Schwan’s name lives on in frozen foods (Red Baron, Freschetta, and Mrs. Smith’s are among their many brands) — that side of the business was sold to CJ CheilJedan, a South Korean company, in 2019. But on Nov. 8, Yelloh permanently parked its fleet of refrigerated trucks that, with their yellow décor, were once instantly recognizable in small towns across America.

London CNN —The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla held in May last year cost British taxpayers £72 million ($91 million), an amount some have labeled excessive. The £72 million spent on the coronation could have paid for 24 million free meals for schoolchildren in London, based on the city government’s current budget of £3.00 ($3.75) per meal. Some additional spending came from the Privy Purse, the monarch’s private source of income, a royal source told CNN. “Plans (for the coronation) were scaled back,” the royal source told CNN. The culture department, in its accounts, said it had underspent its budget on the coronation by £2.8 million ($3.5 million).

WNBA star Cameron Brink had to learn how to negotiate her worth sooner than most 22-year-olds. Despite suffering a torn ACL in June that sidelined her rookie season, Brink's momentum off the court hasn't slowed. "Building my confidence in negotiations has been a journey for me, but I remind myself that my skills and hard work are valuable," Brink told CNBC Make It in an email. The most important step she takes to prepare for any negotiation, Brink says, is to research the companies she negotiates with. By contrast, the highest-paid players in the NBA are earning more than $50 million a year — and that's before factoring in sponsorships.

Colin Gray, the father of alleged Georgia school shooter Colt Gray, pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges related to the mass shooting in September at Apalachee High School that killed four people. Attorneys for Colin Gray appeared in court Thursday morning and entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Barrow County District Attorney Brad Smith said Colin Gray’s charges marked the first time in state history that a parent of a suspect in a school shooting was charged. His son was indicted separately on 55 counts, including four counts of malice murder and four counts of felony murder, in the Sept. 4 shooting at the Winder high school. The younger Gray, who was charged as an adult, waived his formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty in October, court records show.

Two of the biggest Harry Potter fan communities, MuggleNet and The Leaky Cauldron, denounced Rowling’s views and severed ties with the author’s future projects. On Sept. 10, she posted the U.K. open casting call for the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley to her 14.2 million followers on X. “Every time we sit down to have a fun conversation about Harry Potter, the conversation becomes angry and depressing, and so we end up not publishing,” she says. “There are so many fans who deeply disagree with what Rowling is saying, but still want to engage in the Harry Potter fandom.”Ironically, while Rowling’s actions have undermined many Potter fans’ dedication to her, they also appear to have strengthened those fans’ solidarity with each other. We can love and enjoy that without the author.”The question now is whether HBO can cast the same spell.

John Lamparski / Getty Images fileHegseth’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore, told NBC News that the allegation of sexual assault against his client is false. Hegseth is innocent, eyewitness and video evidence confirms that she was the aggressor, and years later, she extorted Mr. Hegseth for money. The report said the unidentified woman, who later went to a hospital for a sexual assault exam, confronted Hegseth at the event because "she did not appreciate how he treated women," the report said. She and a group of other women went to a bar attached to the hotel, where she had more drinks, while Hegseth was allegedly also present.

An Alabama inmate convicted in a 1994 murder is poised to die Thursday in the state's third nitrogen hypoxia execution this year. If you're looking for a career that pays well, doesn't require a bachelor's degree and offers strong job security, you might want to consider a job in the skilled trades. Close to a third (35%) of the fastest-growing jobs in the U.S. are in the skilled trades, with more than 1.5 million new jobs expected between now and 2032, according to the latest numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. "As people continue to search for higher-paying jobs with low barriers to entry, blue-collar jobs have had a resurgence in interest — especially among Gen Z," he added. Though many blue-collar jobs don't require a four-year degree, most roles require certifications, licensing and, in some cases, extensive on-the-job training. Here are five in-demand jobs in the skilled trades that pay over $100,000 and don't require a bachelor's degree, according to data from Resume Genius and the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

A group of more than a dozen Republican lawmakers is urging a collegiate athletic conference to ban transgender women from competition after reports of a trans student competing on the s women’s volleyball team of a participating university. “Under these guidelines, it is only fair that biological males play men’s sports and biological females play women’s sports.”“Clearly, the Mountain West Conference has dropped the ball,” it continues. In September, SJSU volleyball player Brooke Slusser joined a lawsuit filed by more than a dozen women athletes against the NCAA, which oversees collegiate athletics, about trans athletes’ participation in school sports. The lawsuit argues that the NCAA violated the Title IX rights of cisgender female athletes by allowing transgender women to compete against them. Just last week, Slusser and 10 other former and current athletes in the Mountain West Conference filed a separate lawsuit against the conference and three SJSU staffers, accusing them of violating players’ Title IX rights.
