Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Biden should "embrace" being older. "I think should embrace his age, his experience, [...] the knowledge he brings to the job," Pelosi, who remains a House Democrat with the title of Speaker Emerita, told MSNBC's "Morning Joe." Pelosi, was the oldest House speaker at 82, before Republicans narrowly retook the chamber in 2022. Pointing to the longevity of some other major figures, Pelosi added that Biden is quite young. Biden is younger than her too, Pelosi, who is now 83, pointed out.

During one of the most extreme heat waves Europe has had this summer, executives in suits dashed from cabs into Milan’s air-conditioned offices, while tourists sipped mimosas under clouds of cooling vapor in the Bar at Ralph Lauren. Below the darkened windows, delivery riders cycled under the sun to shuttle sushi and poke bowls to office buildings. And along the highway that connects Milan to the seaside, laborers wore safety vests on bare, sunburned chests as they lugged buckets of concrete in the scorching heat. Temperatures in southern Europe have climbed past 40 degrees Celsius, or 104 Fahrenheit, with higher figures expected on Wednesday. While everyone was feeling the scorching weather, the heat wave has also highlighted a deep divide — between those who can afford to shelter from it, and those who cannot.

Jesse Collier spent nearly $6,000 on a 10 -day vacation for two. She says she could've saved money by traveling in the off-season , and preparing some meals herself . It was our first trip since 2019, and my husband and I decided on a tropical getaway to Maui, Hawaii. I was so excited to be on vacation again after spending what felt like an eternity at home that I acted careless with money, which was very unlike me. Here's how I could have saved quite a bit of money on my trip to Hawaii.

Uber Eats has cut 8,000 virtual brands from its app. Uber Eats' virtual-brand policies come a year after Insider reported that DoorDash and Grubhub were cracking down on virtual brands. It also must be 60% different from any other virtual restaurant operating from that same physical location, Uber Eats said. At the start of the year, Park had 10 Asian-themed virtual brands listed on Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub. He said Uber Eats booted eight of his virtual restaurants from the app during the March purge.

Bud Light posted a meme on Sunday that seemed to poke fun at the brand's handling of backlash it's faced. The backlash began in April, after Bud Light partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. A video clip posted on Sunday to Bud Light's Twitter and Instagram shows a woman eating a watermelon, a Bud Light can on a picnic table behind her while severe wind whips trash and sends people scurrying. Conservatives are calling for Bud Light boycotts, while advocates are asking the brand to support the transgender community. The recent post from Bud Light, though, seemed to meme-ify Bud Light's own handling of the backlash — silently waiting out the storm of outcry.

Lina Khan became chair of the Federal Trade Commission two years ago on a promise to bring bold action against the biggest tech companies. For too long, Ms. Khan said at the time, the agency had been a weak cop and needed to challenge behemoths like Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Google in the courts to stem their growing power. But on Tuesday, Ms. Khan suffered the biggest blow yet to her hallmark agenda. That followed a loss in February, when a judge rejected an F.T.C. Ms. Khan’s critics are more emboldened and are speaking out more loudly to poke holes in her take-it-to-the-courts strategy, saying the losses are not even partial wins — they’re just losses.

With Twitter in chaos, Mark Zuckerberg looks to pounce

Washington CNN —Mark Zuckerberg has tried for years to take on Twitter. Now he may finally have his best chance to deliver a knockout blow to the social network at a turbulent moment. On Friday, Twitter made tweets inaccessible to anyone who wasn’t logged in, reducing the reach of the platform’s content. For years, Twitter has been the go-to social platform for real-time news and commentary. The more Twitter users head for the exits, the more its alternatives benefit from network effects.

‘Nimona’ Review: Fright the Power

Ballister yearns to be once again embraced by the kingdom, and his ex, the lustily named Ambrosius Goldenloin (Eugene Lee Yang), who broke Ballister’s heart and sliced off his arm. Enter Nimona, a bloodthirsty wrecking ball who wants to use Ballister to destroy the entire system. To do so, Nimona brings further shame upon the exile, even publicly claiming that Ballister likes — Egads! But jokes litter the film like scattered Legos, making you hesitate long enough to appreciate how the light glints off Ballister’s armor-plated shoulders. This is a big message film that wants audiences to reflect on social paranoia.

My father said it was indeed a general store, supplying everything from hog feed to eggs to coal for heating. On the map, I believe General’s Store is the building at the bottom and labeled S for store. Black people appeared chiefly in sketches aimed at amusing readers – or when they were accused of crimes against whites. The letter writer said a young white man in a general store had ordered the woman to put down a can of oil she was examining. I could find nothing that accounted for the death of General Bryson, let alone any item that mentioned the Bryson family.

Yet some Democrats, including current and former Biden administration officials, privately saw it as an unnecessary poke-the-bear gesture. Had he been advising Mr. Biden, Mr. Eisen said, he would have warned him about “the flak they were going to take” but added that it would be a matter of optics, rather than rules. “That’s probably more of a question for an etiquette czar than an ethics czar,” he said. “Certainly, there’s no violation of any ethics rule as long as they didn’t talk about the case.”The White House said Mr. Biden was simply being a father. “In all administrations, regardless of party, it’s common for presidential family members to attend state dinners and to accompany presidents to Camp David,” Andrew Bates, a White House spokesman, said on Tuesday.

Before the cage match offer, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg privately grumbled about each other, WSJ reported. Tensions between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg appear to have been simmering for quite some time — long before the two indicated they might be ready to settle their differences in a cage match. The Meta CEO was quick to respond to Musk's taunt, telling him "Send me location." Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Meta told The Verge that Zuckerberg is serious about the offer to fight.

Joselu’s late winner puts Spain into Nations League final

ENSCHEDE, Netherlands, June 15 (Reuters) - Substitute Joselu scored a fortunate winner three minutes from the end as Spain booked their place in a second successive Nations League final with a deserved 2-1 victory over Italy on Thursday. "The team played a great game," Joselu told reporters. Thursday's result in Enschede was a repeat of the 2021 Nations League semi-final between the teams and became a battle of Spain’s possession game versus Italy’s ability to hit them on the counter-attack with swift breaks. "Spain deserved it, even if they only found the goal right near the end. We set up slightly differently, but we couldn't do much in the second half," Italy coach Roberto Mancini told RAI.

The bare-bones Maverick XL hybrid lacks creature comforts like cruise control and power mirrors. The first time I hopped into the new Ford Maverick pickup, I did what any driver would do in an unfamiliar vehicle. The base Maverick XL, which Ford loaned me for a weekend in December, costs $20,000 before fees, which makes it the cheapest model in Ford's lineup. Ford Maverick XLT ($22,360) : adds cruise control, a nicer interior, power mirrors, an in-bed storage cubby, and other features.
