“Hey hey, ho ho, thank you, Joe, it’s time to go!”The success of former President Donald Trump’s campaign is becoming a catastrophe for sitting President Joe Biden. A fundraising appeal from the Biden campaign says, “How does a guy who used to say that Donald Trump and his policies were ‘reprehensible,’ become Donald Trump’s running mate? Through years of being a rubber-stamp for Donald Trump’s extreme, MAGA agenda. Women voters, whom the Trump campaign desperately needs, start posting cat memes sharply critical of Vance’s views. But even though Trump is casting himself as the martyr, within days it will seem he was playing the prophet.

One such drug is rapamycin, a pill that is typically prescribed to patients ahead of organ transplants "to bring the immune system down," according to Dr. Andrea Maier, a longevity expert and internal medicine specialist. Popular advocates for anti-aging like Dr. Peter Attia swear by rapamycin and its longevity effects — he has been taking the pill for years. But of the use of off-label rapamycin for longevity, Maier says: "[it] might have potential, beneficial effects for the aging body of humans. A 2014 study showed that rapamycin extended the lifespan of mice by more than 20%. It's also been found to extend the lifespan of fruit flies and worms, but first caught the attention of researchers when it extended the lifespan of yeast.

Is this because Twitter users want this? AdvertisementIs X, the service many of us still call Twitter, more likely to show users political posts from Republicans, or right-leaning accounts? But they both hover around two possibilities, which aren't mutually exclusive:AdvertisementTheory 1: Twitter is showing users what users want to see. And it's entirely plausible that some left-leaning users have left the platform during Musk's ownership, in part because he reinstated accounts from right-leaning users, including Trump himself. This is a notion that some current and former Twitter users believe, though there's no direct proof that it's the case.

Electric vehicle startup Lucid Group is counting on its upcoming Gravity SUV to assist the automaker in a "significant increase" in sales volumes to narrow the company's losses, according to CEO Peter Rawlinson. The Gravity is Lucid's second vehicle following the Air sedan, which the luxury EV manufacturer has been selling in relatively small numbers since late 2021. Lucid on Tuesday said customer ordering for the first Gravity model, called the Grand Touring, will open Nov. 7 on the carmaker's website. Other models are expected to follow, including an entry-level $79,900 Gravity Touring trim late next year. "We believe there's about a 6-to-1 ratio … for the SUV over sedan, and that's going to put us in a very strong position."

By Mark MurrayThe razor-close presidential election could very well come down to this question: Will the infrequent voters who back Donald Trump by double digits actually turn out? And she carries the tiny share of voters who participated in 2022 but not 2020 by 9 points (52% to 43%). And he’s carrying the voters who didn’t partake in either 2020 or 2022 by 10 points (50% to 40%). On the other hand, NBC News recently observed a pair of focus groups of voters who didn’t participate in the 2020 election but are planning to this time around. High expectations follow being a high NFL draft pick. For three quarters, the matchup cut against those lofty expectations in some ways — and for the last quarter, it became an instant classic that ended with the defining play, so far, of the 2024 NFL season. By summoning offense that had been missing the first three quarters, Williams and the Chicago Bears rallied from a 12-point deficit to take a 15-12 lead against Washington with 23 seconds left on a short touchdown pass by Williams, followed by a two-point conversion. Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown hauled in the Hail Mary with no time left. Washington won 18-15 to improve to 6-2, while Chicago fell to 4-3 in one of the most improbable ways.

With most of the population gone, residents of one village in Japan have come up with a novel plan to make it less lonely — replacing people with puppets. Fewer than 60 people live in Ichinono, and most of them are past retirement age as younger people have moved away for jobs or education. So, using old clothes, fabrics and mannequins, residents have stitched together their own population of puppets to keep them company. “We’re probably outnumbered by puppets,” Hisayo Yamazaki, an 88-year-old widow, told the Agence France-Presse news agency. RoWhen LaSara's cofounder John Snedegar opened up his brick-and-mortar men's health clinic in 2017, "nobody" was specializing in men's sexual health, he said. But he typically recommends lifestyle changes, like more exercise, eating better, and getting good sleep, which all naturally help to boost testosterone levels. An uptick in personal care spending could be a sign US consumers are feeling more confident. Better-than-expected retail sales last month point to a coming "treat yourself economy." Those rising numbers point to a trend that Washington Post reporter Heather Long dubbed the "treat yourself economy" in a conversation with Marketplace last week.
