The second apparent assassination attempt comes against the backdrop of a turbulent campaign that has defied convention and predictions. Another apparent attempt on his life is likely to have some level of personal impact on the former president. In normal circumstances, an apparent assassination attempt against a presidential candidate might be expected to unleash a surge of sympathy that could translate into a political boost. Three-month-old Amur tiger cubs Amaliya explores her outdoor enclosure for the first time with their mother Dari at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, Minn. on Thursday. Its Amur tigers have produced 57 cubs, 46 of which survived for at least 30 days. The births of Andrei and Amaliya raised the zoo’s population to seven Amur tigers, including their sire, Luka.
