The Chinese military has increased its provocative flights around Taiwan by 300% over the last five months, according to the commander of the U.S. Air Forces in the Indo-Pacific Command. In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Gen. Kevin Schneider warned that People’s Liberation Air Force activities have increased dramatically since Taiwan’s new president was inaugurated in May. Schneider noted that the Chinese Air Force has maintained the increased activity level since Lai Ching-te was sworn in on May 20. Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that he intends to unify Taiwan with mainland China and has steadily ramped up military pressure on democratically governed Taiwan. Trump has not committed to defending Taiwan during a Chinese military invasion.

Yet Durham found that no senior FBI or CIA officials had committed crimes. Former intelligence officials disagree on whether Trump would seek to use the spy agencies against domestic political opponents, and if he did, how the intelligence workforce and courts would respond. Presidents face few legal constraints when it comes to their authority over the intelligence agencies, legal experts and former senior officials said. Supporters of Trump say dire warnings about the future of the intelligence agencies under a new Trump administration are hysterical and overblown, and that his record at the White House shows that he strengthened the spy agencies. “And the other is the risk that the intelligence agencies will be directed to do things that are either unlawful or inappropriate.”

It's still uncertain what Donald Trump's second presidency will look like, but his first administration was highly responsive to business issues with a set way of operating, top German business executive Joe Kaeser told CNBC. "If I personally, for my company at the time, had an issue to resolve, his administration was extremely receptive," the chairman of the supervisory board of Siemens Energy said in an interview with CNBC's Annette Weisbach Thursday. Kaeser was Siemens' CEO throughout President-elect Trump's first term. Trump did "a lot of things which helped the economy" during his first four years in office, Kaeser said, noting that he believed the president-elect's tax cuts at the time were a positive. One study done at the time, however, showed that the Trump tax cuts, which were implemented in 2017, only had a limited contribution to the strong U.S. growth the following year.

Adobe (ADBE) , a leader in AI-enhanced creative solutions, is particularly well-positioned to capitalize on this environment. With its superior growth rates and operational margins that set it apart from peers, Adobe's valuation presents a compelling entry point amid strong fundamentals and a supportive administration. This signals that sellers are starting to get exhausted and presents an opportunity for buyers to start stepping in for a strong counter-trend rally. Tomohiro Ohsumi | Getty Images News | Getty ImagesDETROIT — Toyota Motor sounded the alarm Friday that California-led electric vehicle mandates that are set to start next year are "impossible" to meet and, if they're not changed, will lead to less customer choice in several states. Battery-electric, fuel cell and, to an extent, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles qualify as zero emission under the regulations. At this point, it looks impossible," Jack Hollis, chief operating officer of Toyota Motor North America, said during a virtual media roundtable Friday. Several automotive insiders previously told CNBC that the EV mandate issue needed to be addressed regardless of who won election this year.

Treasury yields have ripped higher of late, even as the Federal Reserve continues to cut rates. The benchmark 10-year Treasury note yield has soared nearly 70 basis points to 4.3% since mid-September, when the Fed cut rates by a half-point. Despite the Fed's latest action, the incoming Trump administration is likely to keep yields elevated, according to Ned Davis Research. Dimitrova noted that rising debt-to-GDP ratio has been closely linked with higher bond yields. The question for investors now is: How long until higher yields start putting pressure on equities?

Microsoft — like its Big Tech competitors — is introducing AI to its consumer products, from virtual chatbot assistants to notetaking and editing tools. In October, Microsoft introduced a sweeping update to its Copilot virtual assistant in an effort to make it more useful and user-friendly, CEO of Microsoft AI Mustafa Suleyman previously told CNN. Microsoft users will also see AI features in Notepad, Microsoft’s writing platform, allowing them to use the new technology to help rewrite or edit sentences. For example, users can type a sentence, and then prompt the AI tool to rewrite the sentence or modify its tone or length. Apple’s “Writing Tools,” an editing tool, is similar to Microsoft’s AI features in Notepad.

International courses in Dubai and Indonesia also kept quiet, as did the US courses in Los Angeles County and Hudson Valley, New York. But his victory does put a spotlight back on Trump's business empire, where companies could use the connections as a selling point or try to function like a business without a famous owner. Reuters estimated earlier this year that Trump's golf and resort business is the biggest driver of the Trump Organization's cash flow.
