At the time, Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said the startup was "flattered" by the offer, but would remain an independent company and aim to list instead. Yahya Sinwar, the elusive Hamas leader widely credited with masterminding the Oct. 7 terror attacks on Israel, was confirmed dead Thursday, ending a yearlong manhunt for the militant chief. CNN —The US carried out a round of strikes in Yemen against the Iran-backed Houthis on Wednesday evening, according to three US defense officials, targeting weapons storage facilities, including underground facilities. The strikes were carried out by B-2 Spirit bombers, according to one of the officials, marking the first time the US has used the strategic stealth bomber to attack the Houthis in Yemen since the beginning of the US campaign. Over the past year, the US has repeatedly struck or intercepted Houthi drones and missiles in an effort to protect ships and degrade the Houthi arsenal. Brent crude oil futures rose 24 cents, or 0.3%, to $74.49 a barrel by 0054 GMT. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures dropped 27 cents, or 0.4%, to $70.85 per barrel. On the oil demand side, both the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and the International Energy Agency this week cut their forecasts for global oil demand growth in 2024, with China accounting for the bulk of the downgrades. Analysts polled by Reuters expected crude stockpiles rose by about 1.8 million barrels in the week to Oct. 11.
