(AP) — Robert Saleh raised some eyebrows a few weeks ago when he declared the New York Jets have “embarrassed” some of the NFL's top quarterbacks this season. “So whether it's a Super Bowl defending (champion) quarterback, an MVP quarterback or a first-year starting quarterback, we're going to treat them the same way. “Our goal is to be leading in turnovers on defense and obviously a great defense knows how to score or set up scores," Mosley said. The impressive numbers on defense are in stark contrast to those being put up by Wilson and the offense. Soon after Aaron Rodgers suffered what’s typically a season-ending Achilles injury on his first drive with the New York Jets, he suggested something that sounded radical even for Aaron Rodgers. He wanted to try to return this season. The idea of returning from his Achilles tear within just a handful of months seemed impossible. It’s an injury that has historically required up to a year for recovery—if recovery is even possible. Even Rodgers acknowledges there’s a long way to go before achieving his stated goal.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The first sign of discontent regarding Craig Counsell’s decision to leave the Milwaukee Brewers to manage the Chicago Cubs appeared in his hometown at the Little League field that bears his name. The sign was covered up Tuesday morning, one day after the Cubs landed Counsell with a five-year deal worth over $40 million. “I give Craig credit for helping to build that, and for adding all these coaches, all of whom have stayed. Counsell told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Tuesday the opportunity for a new professional challenge and the proximity of Chicago made this opportunity appealing. Neitzel said he believed Attanasio would have received most of the criticism if Counsell had ended up managing any opponent other than the Cubs.
