CNN —Soccer is set to trial sin bins at the higher levels of the game in a bid to improve player behavior towards match officials – a move that has drawn a mixed response. The International Football Association Board (IFAB), the sport’s lawmaking body, announced on Monday that sin bins should be trialed “for dissent and specific tactical offences” having been successfully implemented at a grassroots level. New York CNN —At least a dozen major brands have halted ad spending on X, formerly Twitter, since its latest advertiser exodus began last week over concerns about antisemitism and hate speech on Elon Musk’s social media platform. The ongoing exit of advertisers marks a deepening crisis for X, which was already struggling to woo brands back to the platform following Musk’s takeover last year. IBM’s decision also came after Musk had publicly endorsed an antisemitic conspiracy theory in a post on X earlier in the week. X also said it had made the pro-Nazi accounts identified by Media Matters ineligible for monetization, meaning ads can no longer be run on their pages. REUTERS/Evelyn Hockstein Acquire Licensing RightsNEW YORK, Nov 17 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve's top bank watchdog defended its push to overhaul capital requirements, saying they would have a minimal impact on borrowing costs and make the industry more stable. Michael Barr, the Fed's vice chair for supervision, told a conference in New York on Friday that the so-called "Basel endgame" proposal is mainly focused on raising capital requirements for activities like trading, rather than lending. "Normally, we issue a proposal and then we get very detailed commentary, and we take those comment letters into account." Banks have loudly complained about the proposal, which overhauls how banks gauge their risk and require them to set aside more capital.
