I was never someone who was attracted to older men or thought about dating someone with a significant age gap . That all changed when I met my boyfriend at our brokerage’s 2022 Christmas party — one neither of us wanted to go to. He’s also felt more mature than the men I’ve dated who were my age. Our relationship feels both secure and excitingJess LewisAs we were easing into the relationship, we started out with simple drinks and dinner dates. I kept the relationship a secret more than he didAt first, we both kept the relationship under wraps as we saw each other.

For the second time as governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem has been banished from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Noem’s mention of the gang, he said, was the first time he had heard of it or its possible presence on the reservation. In 2018, as a Representative in the South Dakota Legislature, she proposed legislation that would allow federal authorities to arrest people on tribal lands for state crimes. Tony Mangan, a spokesperson for the South Dakota Attorney General’s office, said the Ghost Dancers are affiliated with a motorcycle gang called the Bandidos. Around the country, tribal nations adopted the practice, and in South Dakota it became part of one of America’s most infamous massacres.

Some days, more than 1,000 arrive in the boulder-strewn mountains near San Diego, alone. These encampments would likely vanish under a Senate bill that would make sweeping changes to immigration laws, including allowing a border emergency authority that would restrict asylum when arrests for illegal crossings hit certain thresholds. If it overcomes long odds, the legislation would radically upend how asylum is handled at the border. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine claimed Thursday it used sea drones to sink a Russian corvette in the Black Sea as Russian investigators alleged that a Russian military transport plane that crashed last month was brought down by two U.S.-made Patriot missiles fired by Kyiv’s forces. The lake has been more of a bay since 1961, when a channel connecting it to the Black Sea was dug out. The private security firm Ambrey said Ukraine used up to six sea drones, each of which usually carry 300 kilograms (661 pounds) of explosives, in the attack. Ambrey, the security company, noted that any unexploded drones could be a threat for Black Sea shipping. The two missiles were fired by the Ukrainian military from near the village of Lyptsi in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, it said.

Mary Weiss, who was the lead singer of the Shangri-Las hit No. 1 in 1964 with “Leader of the Pack,” extracting every ounce of passion and pathos available in a three-minute adolescent soap opera, died on Friday at her home in Palm Springs, Calif. She was 75. Her death was announced by the author and television writer David Stenn, who had been collaborating with Ms. Weiss on a stage musical about the Shangri-Las. Produced and co-written by Shadow Morton, the single featured call-and-response vocals, full-tilt teenage angst and motorcycle sound effects. First he was allowed to leave Turkey after he hit a motorcycle courier with his car in November. Then the police blamed the courier, who later died in the hospital, before reversing course. Widespread perceptions that the driver, Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, 40, a doctor, repeatedly received preferential treatment from the authorities have prompted outrage in Turkey and accusations that justice was denied to the courier, Yunus Emre Gocer, 38, a father of two young children. Many Turks speculated on social media that Mr. Mohamud had been treated differently because of his father’s position and vented about the unusually swift judicial process. Similar cases typically take 18 months to two years, legal experts say.

“One study showed that individuals who play video games for longer times are at higher risk of developing hearing loss or tinnitus.”Tinnitus refers to an internal sensation of a ringing, buzzing or roaring sound in one or both ears. That’s why the study’s authors wondered what the relationship with hearing loss and tinnitus might be — especially since many games also have loud sudden sounds such as gunshots or engines revving. “This can result in temporary hearing loss or ringing in the ears,” she added. But hearing damage is permanent, and exposure to high-intensity sounds when young could make kids more vulnerable to developing age-related hearing loss later, so the authors have urged the importance of prevention. “Key warning signs of hearing loss include experiencing tinnitus, difficulties hearing high-pitched sounds or difficulties following conversations,” Dillard said.
