Critics have argued for years that CEO pay packages are exorbitant. Under Musk’s pay plan, he received a chunk of stock options each time Tesla’s market value rose by $50 billion. It's ironic: We are at a moment where supply of money and demand for goods are intersecting. The possibility of higher earnings so far has been controlled by supply and demand and the disinflation it is breeding, which may continue this week.
