CNBC's Jim Cramer on Wednesday said investors shouldn't be worried in this market, listing five bearish "scares" that he said are part of the normal market rhythm and shouldn't worry Wall Street so much. Cramer said investors are worried that a commercial real estate collapse is on the horizon and will take down regional banks with it. But that hasn't been the case so far, Cramer said, and even companies with disappointing reports saw their stocks rally. Cramer said investors have trepidations about buying when the market is narrow — dominated by Big Tech — but recommended taking advantage of this scenario, buying low to be ready when the market broadens. Cramer said Nvidia"So, it's easy to scare people, and if you're a short-seller, it's also profitable," Cramer said.

A watchdog review into market trading from two former high-ranking Federal Reserve officials criticizes their actions but does not accuse either of doing anything illegal. Revelations showed that some Fed officials engaged in market trading at a time when they also were considering important and delicate policy matters in the early days of the Covid pandemic in 2020. The report concludes that their actions resulted in conflicts of interest that raised issues over impartiality and the proper conduct of central bank officials. On Kaplan, the report states that the OIG "did not find that his trading activities violated laws, rules, regulations, or policies related to trading activities as investigated by our office." Since the controversy, the Fed has revamped its trading rules and now prohibits officials from owning stocks, bonds and cryptocurrencies.

Rising bond yields have thrown cold water on the major averages, but a few winners may emerge even if rates remain elevated. These developments have spurred worries that the Fed policymakers could keep rates higher for longer. Bond prices and yields are inversely related, which means that as yields rise, bond prices will fall. Generally, insurers benefit when interest rates rise , since their investment portfolios will generate more yield. Shares of both real estate investment trusts, which specialize in communications services, could take a hit as higher rates make their dividends less attractive.
