DETROIT — Stellantis is delaying the launch of its Ram electric pickup trucks from this year until the first half of 2025, as the trans-Atlantic automaker continues testing the vehicles. CEO Carlos Tavares on Tuesday declined to disclose details about what caused the delays or specific timing on the electric trucks, which include an all-electric “REV” model and an extended-range “Ramcharger” that’s equipped with an electric generator and a gas engine. Stellantis’ upcoming electric pickups are the first that will be built on the company’s new “STLA Frame platform” for its larger trucks and Jeep SUVs. It is expected to be a “multi-energy platform” that’s capable of internal combustion engines and hybrids, as well as electric models using batteries, fuel cells and range-extended electric propulsion systems. Doing so would deliver on Trump’s campaign comments about removing such incentives and EV initiatives.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said Tuesday that her effort to ban transgender women from using female bathrooms at the U.S. Capitol is a direct response to the election of Sarah McBride, who is set to be the first openly transgender person in Congress. Mace introduced a resolution Monday to prohibit any lawmakers and House employees from “using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex." She was asked by reporters Tuesday if the move was in response to McBride. Mace said she would like to see her resolution incorporated into the House Rules package for the next Congress. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Tuesday that Republicans are trying to resolve the issue but that they will make accommodations for McBride.

Paul Teal, a TV and stage actor who appeared on shows including “One Tree Hill,” died Friday in Raleigh, N.C. Teal’s death was confirmed by a representative for the actor, with the cause of death revealed as cancer. “You were my soulmate, my soon-to-be-husband, my rock, and my future,” Torello wrote in a post on Instagram. “Later, I was giddy to be directing an episode of One Tree Hill where I’d get to cast a new recurring character, Josh-the sleazy movie star. Teal was also known for his theater roles, playing leads in “Newsies,” “Sweeney Todd” and “Rent” at opera and theater houses across the country.
