NYON, Switzerland, Oct 10(Reuters) - The United Kingdom and Ireland will host the 2028 European Championship, while Italy and Turkey will stage the 2032 edition of the tournament, UEFA announced on Tuesday. By accepting a joint Italy-Turkey bid for Euro 2032 last week, and with Turkey withdrawing from the race for Euro 2028, the hosts for both tournaments were already all but assured. Turkey's withdrawal from the 2028 race left England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland and Wales as the sole joint bidders for that tournament. Euro 2028 will be the largest major sporting event the UK and Ireland have jointly staged. Wembley, with a capacity of 90,000, could be expected to host the final and possibly the semi-finals.

The new war between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas has brought more uncertainty to the markets. The couple, who started tinkering in their apartment kitchen in 2019 in an effort to recreate the breakfast tacos Jaramillo grew up eating, raised $180,000 from family and friends to bring their restaurant to life. That's a relatively small amount for opening a brand-new restaurant, noted May: "We were able to do it on a pretty shoestring budget." Prospective buyers attend an open house at a home for sale in Larchmont, New York, on Jan. 22, 2023. As high home prices and interest rates push up monthly mortgage payments, it's harder for many consumers to even get a mortgage in the first place. Last year, lenders denied loan applications due to "insufficient income" more often than any other point since records began in 2018, according to a new report from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Refinance applications were more frequently rejected, at a rate of 24.7% in 2022 — up sharply from 14.2% in 2021. On Tuesday the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) released the full audio from the VAR centre relating to the mistake, were the VAR incorrectly communicated "check complete", confirming the on-field decision. "In a lapse of concentration and loss of focus in that moment, the VAR lost sight of the on-field decision and he incorrectly communicated "check complete", therefore inadvertently confirming the on-field decision. After the restart of the match, the VAR and AVAR concluded that the VAR protocol in the Laws of the Game prohibited the match from being stopped. Following the error, VAR officials Darren England and Dan Cook were replaced for two further games last weekend. PGMOL and The FA have also agreed to review the policy to allow match officials to officiate matches outside of FIFA or UEFA designations.
