BMI, a Fitch Solutions research unit, was among those that predict a lithium supply deficit by 2025. In a recently published report, BMI largely attributed the deficit to China's lithium demand exceeding that of its supply. "We expect an average of 20.4% year-on-year annual growth for China's lithium demand for EVs alone over 2023-2032," the report stated. While that could point to a global lithium surplus next year, shortages could start to plague supply chains in 2028.

Brent futures were flat at $79.63 a barrel by 0800 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude edged 10 cents lower to $75.65 per barrel. Berkshire Hathaway Energy has agreed to purchase a 50% stake in the Cove Point liquefied natural gas facility for $3.3 billion in cash. Warren Buffett's big energy and utility division bought the stake from Dominion Energy and will now own a 75% limited partnership stake in Cove Point LNG located in Lusby, Maryland. The Cove Point LNG Terminal has a storage capacity of 14.6 billion cubic feet and a daily send-out capacity of 1.8 billion cubic feet. Berkshire Hathaway first bought a stake in Dominion's gas pipeline and storage assets for $4 billion in 2020. Abel is now vice chairman for noninsurance operations at Berkshire Hathaway and the successor to the 92-year-old "Oracle of Omaha."

HOUSTON, July 10 (Reuters) - A coming wave of North American liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects faces staffing challenges that are prompting some of the biggest developers to expand training and coordinate projects to keep construction workers. WORKERS NEEDEDAt present Bechtel has more than 3,000 professionals working on its LNG projects. Two other projects - Golden Pass LNG and Plaquemines LNG - have added workers and are moving to 24-hour work schedules. Cheniere and Bechtel are training workers using virtual simulations or via partnerships with local schools. Venture Global LNG stitched together 18 liquefaction units in its highly modular Calcasieu Pass LNG plant, allowing it to open the facility in what it said was record time.

July 6 (Reuters) - India's Adani Green Energy (ADNA.NS), controlled by billionaire Gautam Adani,said on Thursday it approved raising 123 billion rupees ($1.49 billion) through qualified institutional placement. The renewables company will use the funds to diversify its green energy supply in the country, Bloomberg had reported earlier in the day, citing sources familiar with the matter. The company plans to expand its green energy capacity by about 3 gigawatts this fiscal year, spending around 140 billion rupees ($1.70 billion), its finance chief Phuntsok Wangyal had said in May. In May, two other Adani group companies - Adani Transmission (ADAI.NS) and Adani Enterprise (ADEL.NS) - outlined plans to raise up to $2.57 billion after a U.S. short-seller's critical report in January battered investor confidence. Adani Energy's shares alone have halved in value so far this year.
