CNN —A highly venomous snake is on the loose after escaping a home in Tilburg, the Netherlands on Monday afternoon, a municipality spokesperson told CNN on Wednesday. Local authorities are warning people to keep their distance and avoid approaching the poisonous green mamba, which is between 1.8 and 2 meters (6 to 6.5 feet) long. In the unlikely event someone is bitten by the snake, they should immediately call the emergency services, the spokesperson said. There are three species of green mamba, all native to Africa – one is found in the east and south of the continent, another in the west and another in the center. The municipality spokesperson did not specify which species the missing snake belonged to.

The stock market this year has been led by just a handful of the biggest and best tech companies. Just look at the S & P 500 market-cap weighted index, which is viewed as a barometer of the overall stock market. Compare that to the much smaller 3% year-to-date increase in the S & P 500 equal-weight index, which treats each company's stocks the same regardless of market value. It's hard to turn off the monitors and wait for your seven stocks to come back after a terrible year. On top of all that, how many experts really knew heading into 2023 that these were the seven names to back the truck up for?

The new book, "The Fund: Ray Dalio, Bridgewater Associates, and the Unraveling of a Wall Street Legend" — which Dalio and his lawyers have pushed back against — describes everything from Bridgewater's investment process to internal grudges and backstabbing to allegations of sexual harassment. London CNN —Britain’s High Court ruled Friday that the Duke of Sussex’s court case against the publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper over alleged unlawful information gathering can continue. In the High Court ruling, Justice Nicklin said ANL failed to deliver a “knockout blow” to any of the claims brought by the claimants. “We intend to uncover the truth at trial and hold those responsible at Associated Newspapers fully accountable,” the statement continued. ANL said in a statement Friday that it continues to firmly deny the allegations brought against the firm. The statement described the accusations as “lurid claims” and “simply preposterous.”The suit is just one of several that the Duke of Sussex has brought against major UK newspaper publishers, including Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers and Mirror Group Newspapers.

We're exiting our position in Veralto (VLTO), selling 173 shares at roughly $69 each. Following Thursday's trade, Jim Cramer's Charitable Trust will no longer own a position in VLTO. Veralto , the water and packaging quality company, has some interesting long-term prospects as a standalone company that may be worth revisiting down the road. However, Veralto is currently experiencing headwinds due to weakness in China for water quality and lower demand for consumer packaged goods. More specifically, Veralto's water quality sales in China in the third quarter fell in the high teens on a percentage basis.

Doctors across the country say it’s rare that migrants receive medical screenings or anything beyond care for medical emergencies when they arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border, and there’s no overarching national system to track the care, either. The challenges of careMigrants face a lack of access to steady medical care in the U.S., as well as healthy food and stable housing. Nov 1 (Reuters) - IQVIA Holdings (IQV.N) cut its full-year profit forecast on Wednesday, citing weakness in demand for its analytics and medical technology solutions along with the impact of a stronger U.S. dollar. On an adjusted basis, IQVIA reported a profit of $2.49 per share for the third quarter, topping estimates of $2.44 per share. The company now expects full-year adjusted profit to be between $10.16 and $10.23 per share, compared with its prior per-share forecast of $10.26 to $10.56. When the Veralto spinoff from Danaher was completed earlier this month, shareholders like us received one VLTO share for every three shares of DHR owned. Recall that in Danaher's earnings report, third-quarter results for the Environmental & Applied Solutions outpaced expectations for both sales and operating income. On Thursday's call, CFO Sameer Ralhan said Veralto implemented some cost optimizations in the third quarter that will start delivering benefits in the ongoing fourth quarter. Other notable dynamics in Veralto's third quarter include free cash flow generation coming in at 113% of GAAP earnings (which was higher than adjusted earnings at 83 cents per share). But shares of the life sciences and medical diagnostics company remain under pressure after management was forced to lower expectations for one of its key businesses. We used Tuesday's sell-off in Danaher shares to add to our position . Driving this forecast is an expectation for biotechnology sales drop in the mid-20% range, life sciences sales to decline by mid-single digit percentage points, and for diagnostics to be down about 20%. Assuming no additional headwinds in the fourth quarter, management reiterated their full year outlook for the bioprocessing base business to be down 10% on a full-year basis. Danaher Beats Profit Estimates on Respiratory Testing Demand

(Reuters) - Danaher on Tuesday beat Wall Street estimates for third-quarter profit as strong demand for its diagnostic tests for respiratory diseases helped soften the blow from weaker sales at the healthcare conglomerate's life-sciences unit. "Revenue in the third quarter came in ahead of our expectations, with Biotechnology performing as anticipated, and higher respiratory testing revenue more than offsetting slightly softer-than-anticipated demand in Life Sciences," Danaher CEO Rainer Blair said in a statement. Rising interest rates squeezed funding needed for drug development programs, weighing on demand for contract research services offered by Danaher and rival Thermo Fisher. On an adjusted basis, Danaher reported a profit per share of $2.02, beating analysts' expectations of $1.87. Third-quarter sales of $6.87 billion also topped estimates of $6.63 billion.
