That's according to a new report by Challenger, Gray, and Christmas about the number of CEO exits in 2023. The social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, says it is struggling with a flood of posts sharing graphic media, violent speech and hateful conduct about the Israel-Hamas war. CNN —Russian military hackers have been targeting Ukrainian soldiers’ mobile devices in a bid to steal sensitive battlefield information that could aid the Kremlin’s war on Ukraine, the US and its allies warned Thursday. The news shows how the struggle to control sensitive military data in cyberspace has been a key front in Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has encouraged a loose band of thousands of volunteer hackers to launch attacks on Russian assets in Ukraine and on Russian soil. Some analysts and US officials have attributed the relatively limited impact of Russian hacking – at least compared with the outsize expectation of Russian cyber prowess – during the war to the same disorganization that has plagued Russian kinetic operations. But the true scope and impacts of Russian cyber operations in Ukraine is very difficult to pin down in the fog of war, where both sides have incentive to exaggerate their successes.

Before billionaire Elon Musk acquired the company in October, Twitter had banned all political ads globally since 2019. The move to allow all political ads in the U.S. could help X grow its revenue at a time when many advertisers have fled or reduced spending on the platform for fear of appearing next to inappropriate content. The company said it would create a global advertising transparency center, which would let users see what political ads were being promoted on X, and added it would continue to prohibit political ads that spread false information or seek to undermine public confidence in an election.

A clip from a segment of Fox News’ former show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight”, which shows billionaire Elon Musk unveiling quantum AI software to eradicate poverty, is fake, a spokesperson for the news outlet said. The fabricated clip, posted on Facebook (here), has the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” branding on-screen and features the show’s namesake host. Carlson introduces Musk, who talks about a quantum AI project that he says could increase a person’s income “exponentially” and without active participation. An online search for the purported quantum AI project did not offer any information on the project (bit.ly/3QUVbsL). A video of Elon Musk announcing a quantum AI project on Tucker Carlson Tonight is fake, a spokesperson for Fox News has said.

On being shown the viral video, CNN spokesperson Emily Kuhn said in an email that “This is obviously fake and digitally altered” and that the video did not have the real voice of the anchor. The clip of Musk featured in the fake newscast was extracted from the 2023 Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting held in Austin, Texas, on May 16, 2023. The video CNN-branded segment is fake.

He had over 88 million followers on the platform before the ban, while he had 6.39 million followers on Truth Social as of Friday. Blank-check firm Digital World said in October 2021 it had agreed to merge with TMTG, in a deal that would infuse the Truth Social parent with $1.3 billion in cash. The deal, however, faced scrutiny for months and Digital World settled fraud charges with the U.S. securities regulator earlier this year that had delayed its closing. Digital World earlier this month pushed the deadline for the merger by over three months to Dec. 31, in the latest extension.
