Pseudoephedrine, which is found in behind-the-counter products like Sudafed, is effective at clearing congestion, Dr. Dykewicz said; just keep in mind that it can come with side effects. After that, you run the risk of rebound congestion: when the mucosal surfaces in your nose swell, making you feel even more clogged up than before. There are some sprays that you can use for longer stretches, without the rebound risk, namely steroid sprays that contain ingredients like fluticasone (Flonase) or triamcinolone (Nasacort), which are available over-the-counter. Can I treat congestion without medication? In many cases, you can treat a stuffed-up nose by standing in a steamy shower or using a humidifier to help clear your nasal passages, Dr.

Criteo is eyeing a $42 billion slice of the retail media market. A glut of retail media networks could reduce that $42 billion retail media opportunity by 20%. Criteo said that this type of "fragmentation" could cause retail media revenues to drop 20%. He said brands will often buy across three or four individual retail media networks, which means smaller retail media networks can struggle to attract advertising dollars. The Trade Desk's CEO Jeff Green has previously announced his ambition to control "most" of the retail media market and it has aggressively sought partnerships to prove that retail ads drive sales, to inspire more advertisers to buy retail media.

Fanatics has seen that area of its business grow to more than $5 billion in annual sales, a key driver of its increasing overall revenue and valuation. The slew of recent executive appointments moves Fanatics closer to Rubin's goal of an eventual IPO as its business continues to expand beyond sports merchandise. Low Ah Kee is replacing Doug Mack, who has served as Fanatics Commerce CEO since 2014 and announced last month that he would be retiring at the end of 2023. Fanatics said Mack will work with Low Ah Kee for the remainder of the year and then will shift into a special advisory role for Rubin and the company. REUTERS/Brendan McDermid Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Rising U.S. business bankruptcies may raise a red flag in what otherwise appears like an economy now impervious to rising interest rates. Commenting on the numbers, insolvency research organisation ABI blamed elevated interest rates, price inflation and a resumption of student loan payments as just some of the headwinds causing stress. That partly mirrors some of built-in household resilience to rising rates related to long-term fixed-rate borrowings and still-high cash savings that now earn significantly higher rates of interest now too. And that 10% - accounting for more than 60% of index market cap - had seen no rise in net interest payments so far in the Fed campaign. But creeping insolvencies among the smaller firms - many of whom have been dubbed 'zombies' for years due to their survival solely on low interest rates - may be a better reflection of what's starting to happen at the coalface of the economy.

CNN —Travelers looking to rent an apartment for a few days in New York City will find slimmer pickings now that city officials have started enforcing new rules cracking down on short-term rentals. Airbnb has called the rules a “de facto ban” on short-term rentals (STRs) that will hurt hosts and the tourism economy. The requirements for approval are strict and follow laws that pre-date the new registration rules. Hanson said that long-term average hotel occupancy in New York City is between 80% and 85%, well above the national average between 62% and 67%. Thousands of listings across various booking sites will be affected as the new registration rules are enforced.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures for October settled at $83.63 a barrel, up $2, or 2.45%. Brent crude futures for October, expiring on Thursday, finished up $1, 1.16%, at $86.86 a barrel. "The crude market is reacting to OPEC production cuts being extended," said Andrew Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. On Thursday, six-month U.S. crude oil futures traded as low as $3.83 below crude for front month delivery , the steepest discount since Nov. 17, signalling tight supplies and encouraging inventory draws. Analysts expect Saudi Arabia to extend a voluntary oil production cut of 1 million bpd into October, adding to cuts put in place by OPEC+.

How I Turned My Errands Into Exercise
  + stars: | 2023-08-26 | by ( Andrew Leonard | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
The 11-mile round trip left me with dead legs, a sore back and the sneaking suspicion I had made a mistake. What started as a necessity — I had no car, so I must bike — became a strategy: Errands are an opportunity for exercise. I began seeking out new errands just for the exercise they would provide. Running low on Sichuan peppercorns spurred me to cycle the nine-mile round trip to the Chinese supermarket. Earlier this year, I learned that the public library stocked a book about an ancient tomb I was researching, and my first thought was: Excellent, that’s a 4,000-step round trip!

You can check the building’s offering plan to find these documents and see if the board president was authorized to purchase, install and monitor the cameras, said Andrew Lieb, a real estate lawyer. “Foreign policy, defence, our relationship with the Pacific - all of that will be far more relevant and the public will be more conscious of it compared to other elections, where it's been pretty much non-existent,” said Josie Pagani, a political commentator and host of the pre-election foreign policy debate. Sixty-three percent of voters say inflation and the cost of living are a most important issues of the election, a poll by the Ipsos New Zealand Issues Monitor released in June said. A second survey released last week by the country’s national intelligence and security board found increasing levels of concern about defence, security and foreign policy. Foreign policy doesn't usually play in New Zealand elections, said Jason Young, an associate professor of international relations and politics at Victoria University. The opposition National party, which polls indicate will win control of the government, hasn’t released its defence policy and said it needs more detail about AUKUS.

Walmart is expanding its in-store advertising, as first reported by CNBC. One analyst said that we may be at an "inflection point" for in-store advertising opportunities. While Walmart is expanding its third-party advertisements in stores, it has shown ads through digital screens, TVs, and self-checkout registers for years. Retailers, like Walmart, are beginning to look to their physical stores as ways to bring in more advertisement revenue. Though in-store advertising "remains a nascent market segment," shoppers should be "thought of as 'eyeballs' for brands to reach," the report said.

New Zealand sets up lead cyber agency to boost online security
  + stars: | 2023-07-25 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +1 min
SYDNEY, July 26 (Reuters) - New Zealand said on Wednesday it would boost its cyber defences by setting up a lead agency to make it easier for the public and businesses to seek help during network intrusions. The government would bring New Zealand's Computer Emergency Response Team into its National Cyber Security Centre, which it said would help improve the response to cyber incidents. "The cyber security threats New Zealand faces are growing in scale and sophistication," Public Service Minister Andrew Little said in a statement. New Zealand has seen a rise in online break-ins recently prompting the country's central bank in May to propose collecting financial data on cyber incidents to better understand cyber risks in the financial sector. July 24 (Reuters) - Threads, Meta Platform's (META.O) broadside to Twitter, is seen by some advertisers as less contentious and more predictable than Elon Musk's platform, and analysts say it could lure away marketing budgets - eventually. But analysts have forecast lofty ad spending targets - with the caveat that they depend on whether users stick on. If the app manages to retain users, Threads could achieve $5 billion in annual ad revenue, equaling what Twitter earned in 2021, Bernstein said in a note on July 18. Morningstar analysts said on July 11 that Threads could add between $2 billion and $3 billion to Meta's revenue every year between 2024 and 2027. Evercore ISI analysts estimated on July 9 that Threads could generate $8 billion in annual revenue by 2025, a small portion of the $156 billion revenue analysts expect for Meta that year, according to Refinitiv.
