But ask white-collar professionals who are actually looking for a job, and they'll tell you horror stories that are eerily similar to Bach's. As I wrote last spring, that's because the job market has essentially split into two distinct tiers. AdvertisementNow, new data from LinkedIn — which tracked how often its users landed new jobs — shows which white-collar jobs are being hit the hardest. AdvertisementAnother reason tech companies are hiring fewer professionals is that their existing employees are opting to stay put. "We're slowly, slowly recovering," says Art Zeile, the CEO of Dice, a tech job board.

Pure-play electric vehicle stocks like Rivian and Lucid are flat and down more than 3%, respectively, since Trump's victory. So why is Tesla soaring even as a second Trump administration is expected to fundamentally disrupt the U.S. electric vehicle market? And increased tariffs could make inputs for electric vehicles more expensive. These headwinds ignore the fact that Trump's new best friend is Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi told clients in a Monday note. But Tesla's fundamentals are largely steady postelection, while Musk's relationship with Trump underlines how Tesla largely controls the self-driving vehicle narrative, the analyst said.

Roku's huge underperformance this year has created an attractive buying opportunity for investors, according to Baird. Analyst Vikram Kesavabhotla upgraded the stock to outperform from neutral and hiked his price target by $20 to $90, implying more than 30% upside from Friday's close. "We also believe the continued fragmentation of content and heightened industry focus on monetization/engagement should help magnify the value of ROKU's platform." "Management is also expressing a disciplined approach toward operating expense growth going forward, which should allow ROKU to consistently deliver operating leverage over the coming years," Kesavabhotla added. Kyiv loudly decries the refusal, and just when the request seems to have been parked, the Biden administration approves it. Is it too late for the US-made Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, to make a difference if it hits targets deep inside Russia? The answer is complex and perhaps explains some of the reluctance of the Biden administration to grant permission. Secondly, Ukraine has been able to penetrate deeper inside Russia using domestically manufactured and cheaper drones. Thirdly, the permission to use US precision missiles to hit deeper inside Russia is, as it sounds, quite provocative.

Ford Motor Company has agreed to pay $165 million, the second-largest auto penalty ever issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to settle charges it failed to comply with federal recall requirements. “The total civil penalty amount of $165 million is second only to the Takata airbag consent order in the agency’s 54-year history,” the NHTSA said in a statement. The Ford penalty stems from a multi-year investigation into the automaker's handling of defective rollover safety cameras on a number of its models, including its popular F-150 trucks and Explorer SUVs. In a statement, Ford said it disagreed with NHTSA's findings but that it was pleased to administratively settle the dispute with the regulator. Under a 25% tariff on goods from China, the Wall Street investment bank sees an EPS loss for Apple of 9.2%. Those estimates make Apple the fifth most vulnerable tech company to potential tariffs on goods from China in Morgan Stanley's research coverage. Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan agrees, seeing any tariff impact as "manageable." He sees a 60% tariff on Chinese goods possibly resulting in about a 4% hit to Apple's EPS.
