More than 40 FBI agents and personnel are on the ground in Georgia assisting in the search for 20-month-old Quinton Simon, who has been missing since last week, according to police. The toddler was reported missing Wednesday morning from his home in an unincorporated part of Chatham County near Savannah. The Chatham County Police Department requested the FBI's help the day the toddler was reported missing, Chief Jeffrey Hadley said at a news conference on Monday. "We understand that people far beyond Chatham County have become emotionally invested in this incident and the search for Quinton and they want answers. An 80-year-old California woman was mauled to death by two dogs while out for a walk on Friday morning, officials said. Soon Han was out for a walk in San Bernardino County when two Dogo Argentino breed dogs from a nearby home attacked her, according to a statement from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station. "Han suffered major injuries during the attack and was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in the statement. The two dogs responsible for the attack are in custody of San Bernardino County Animal Care & Control, where they'll be held until the investigation into the incident is over. The Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station is encouraging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
Hurricane Ian continues to strengthen as Florida and Cuba brace for strong winds and possible floods this week. Currently, in the western Caribbean Sea about 195 miles southeast of the western tip of Cuba, Ian has maximum sustained winds of 85 mph, with higher gusts, according to the National Hurricane Center. A hurricane warning is in place for the Cuban provinces of Isla de Juventud, Pinar del Rio and Artemisa while a hurricane watch was issued along the west coast of Florida from north of Englewood to the Anclote River, including Tampa Bay. The hurricane is forecast to bring 8 to 15 inches of rain to central West Florida, 3 to 8 inches to the rest of the Florida Peninsula and 4 to 6 inches to the Keys. This rain can cause flash and urban flooding mid-to-late week in central Florida as well as across the Florida Keys and peninsula through midweek.

Police in Florida are investigating an incident where shots were fired outside of a Chuck E. Cheese during an altercation on Saturday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff's office received multiple calls about shots fired near the Hillsborough County establishment just before 5p.m. According to detectives, an altercation broke out inside the Chuck E. Cheese, but a security guard relocated the crowd outside into the parking lot. "At some point, the woman lost possession of the firearm outside of Chuck E. Cheese, while another woman picked it up and shot at least one round into the air," the sheriff's office said. During the altercation, a white Audi crashed into the Chuck E. Cheese, and two women and a minor were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police in Irving, Texas are investigating an officer's use of force after video showing the officer slam a student into a lunch cart before pushing him down to the ground again began circulating on social media, according to police. One of the officers is seen grabbing and throwing a student into a lunch cart before he falls onto the ground. The Irving Police Department said the officers used force to separate and detain those involved in the fight. "The Irving Police Department reviews every use of force to ensure policies and procedures are appropriately applied," the department said in the statement. "We have seen video clips from this fight shared on social media and an internal investigation has begun."
One person is dead after an explosion sent eight people to hospitals and caused the collapse of a nearby building in Chicago on Tuesday, officials said. The individual, who was the most seriously injured person in the Tuesday explosion, succumbed to his injuries on Friday, according to a tweet from the Chicago Fire Department. The explosion happened on Tuesday morning, leading to the collapse of a nearby building just before 9:30 a.m. at West Washington Boulevard and North Central Avenue, the Chicago Fire Department tweeted. The eight people who were hospitalized had injuries ranging from burns to traumatic injuries, Ferman said. The cause of the explosion and the collapse remain under investigation, according to officials.
Country singer Luke Bell died as a result of an accidental fentanyl overdose, according to a report issued Monday from the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office. The “Where Ya Been?” singer was found dead by a passerby in a shaded area of a parking lot in Tucson, Arizona, on Aug. 26, according to officials. "In consideration of the known circumstances surrounding this death, the available medical history, and the examination of the remains, the cause of death is ascribed to fentanyl intoxication," the medical examiner's report said. A group of Jackson, Mississippi, residents filed a class action lawsuit on Friday over the water crisis that left over 150,000 people in the city without access to clean running water. As a result of water crisis, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit allege they weren't able to "readily go about normal daily activities like using the bathroom, brushing [their] teeth, and cooking." A University of Tampa student was fatally shot early Saturday while trying to get into the wrong car, police said. The student, who had been with friends, took an Uber to his home near campus and attempted to get into a parked car, Tampa police said in a news release. The person in that car fatally fired on the student. Police investigate the shooting death of a Tampa student. The University of Tampa issued a statement Saturday mourning the student.
Bishop Lamor Whitehead, 44, was preaching at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries church in Brooklyn’s Canarsie neighborhood when someone in the congregation started yelling inaudibly off-camera.
