Stellantis plans to use a proving grounds in Arizona owned by Toyota Motor beginning next year, according to two people familiar with the decision. A storm system in the Atlantic could potentially strengthen into a tropical depression as it heads towards the Caribbean later this week, according to the National Hurricane Center — the latest storm in what is already an "above-normal" hurricane season. A tropical depression is a storm with maximum sustained winds of 38 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted an “above-normal” hurricane season this year, with eight to 13 hurricanes and 17 to 25 named storms. The 2024 hurricane season has already produced nine hurricanes, including four major hurricanes, and 13 named storms, NBC Miami reported. About seven weeks are still left in the 2024 hurricane season.

Oil eased on Friday after a rally the previous day, but prices remained set for a second straight weekly gain as investors weighed the impact of hurricane damage on U.S. demand against any broad supply disruption if Israel attacks Iranian oil sites. Brent crude oil futures fell 39 cents, or 0.5%, to $79.01 a barrel by 0152 GMT. "Oil prices are likely to hover around the current 200-day average levels, with the primary concern being whether Israel will retaliate against Iranian oil facilities," he said. Crude benchmarks spiked this month after Iran launched more than 180 missiles against Israel on Oct. 1, raising the prospect of retaliation against Iranian oil facilities. Israel has yet to respond, and crude benchmarks have eased and remained relatively flat through the week.
