Harris would seek to distance herself from Biden somewhat delicately, likely giving the White House a heads up before doing so, three of the people familiar with the discussions said. Just hours after her interview on “The View,” Harris faced the same type of question by Stephen Colbert, who asked what major changes would be clear in a potential Harris administration and what might stay the same. Tim Walz walked down the 50-yard line at Friday’s crosstown rivalry football game between Mankato East High School and Mankato West High School. After the coin toss, Walz took a seat on the bleachers, where he took selfies and signed autographs alongside his mother, Darlene Walz. The governor cheered throughout the game as Mankato West took an early lead, and although he departed at halftime, Mankato West held on to win 28-7. Before the game, Tim Walz stopped by Mankato West to greet players as they left for the stadium and speak to old colleagues.

President Joe Biden has postponed his overseas trip this week due to Hurricane Milton, according to two sources familiar with the planning. Biden was scheduled to depart for Berlin on Thursday and then travel to Angola in Southern Africa, returning to the U.S. on Oct. 15. "Given the projected trajectory and strength of Hurricane Milton, President Biden is postponing his upcoming trip to Germany and Angola in order to oversee preparations for and the response to Hurricane Milton, in addition to the ongoing response to the impacts of Hurricane Helene across the Southeast," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. Residents there are still reeling from the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene last month. New York CNN —The window for a final 2024 presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is closing. Harris has accepted the invitation and welcomed the chance to debate Trump again, but Trump has rejected her calls. On Tuesday, CNN stepped up the pressure by writing to both campaigns and setting a Thursday deadline for a formal response.
