From Monday, users will need to present a doctor’s prescription to a pharmacist to buy vapes, and the choice will be limited to three flavors: mint, menthol and tobacco. Dozens of countries have banned disposable vapes, but with the ban on vape sales in shops, service stations and other small retailers, Australia has introduced “world leading” laws, according to the government. Adults will be able to buy vapes in pharmacies, without a prescription – but the devices may be hard to find after some leading pharmacy chains declared they would refuse to stock them. Despite the rising cost of cigarettes, some fear that young vapers – having been locked out of the vape market – will turn to cigarettes to get their nicotine fix.

CNN —Two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and rookie superstar Caitlin Clark lead the early fan voting for the WNBA All-Star Game, the league announced on Friday. A combination of fan, player, media and coach voting will determine who takes part and, after the first round of fan voting, Wilson leads with 217,773 votes and Clark trails just behind with 216,427. Wilson, a five-time All-Star already, is the current league leader in scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 27.9 points and 11.3 rebounds each game. Clark’s teammate Aliyah Boston, who was named Rookie of the Year in 2023, is in third place in the fan voting while Angel Reese is in seventh. Once the voting concludes, players in the top 10 who haven’t been selected for the USA will join the roster of the WNBA All-Stars team.

CNN —Angel Reese set a new WNBA record by becoming the first rookie in history to record seven consecutive double-doubles. Only two-time MVP A’ja Wilson is averaging more rebounds per game than Reese. It was a comfortable wire-to-wire win for the Sky, who led by as much as 22 points in the third quarter. The Wings made a run to close the gap to nine points in the fourth but never looked like getting within striking distance. Marina Mabrey and Chennedy Carter finished with a team-high 19 points each for the Sky, while rookie Kamilla Cardoso finished a point shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
