Ozempic, the blockbuster diabetes treatment from Novo Nordisk , could be next in line in the price negotiations between manufacturers and Medicare. Ozempic will likely be eligible for negotiations by the time the next round of drugs is selected in 2025, for price changes that will go into effect in 2027. Novo Nordisk's Rybelsus, a diabetes drug taken orally, could also be on the list because it contains the same active ingredient as Ozempic. A spokesperson for Novo Nordisk didn't directly comment on the potential for Ozempic to be included in the next round of talks. Medicare and private insurers typically secure discounts and rebates on the drugs they cover, but it's unclear how large they are.

But anticipation is building for the visit of West Ham, who will become the first top-flight team to play a league match at Kenilworth Road since Aston Villa 31 years ago. The volume created by the Hatters fans crammed in on Friday will shake the 118-year-old stadium to its foundations. Forward Cauley Woodrow, who scored in the League Cup win at Kenilworth Road against Gillingham this week, said Luton needed to turn their home into an intimidating 'fortress'. Arsenal's priority will be avoiding any repeat of the early goals they have conceded on a regular basis at home of late. And while he’s most well known for his popular songs such as “White Iverson,” “Rockstar” and “Circles,” the performer is also famous for his head-to-toe tattoos. LONDON, Aug 30 (Reuters) - British consumers increased their borrowing by less than expected in July in a possible sign of caution among households as borrowing costs rise, Bank of England data showed on Wednesday. The pace of growth in consumer credit over the 12 months to July slowed to 7.3%, the slowest increase since December last year. Britain delays post-Brexit border checks on EU goods till 2024

REUTERS/Toby Melville/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLONDON, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The British government will delay imposing full post-Brexit import controls on goods from the European Union by a further three months, it said on Tuesday, pushing the start date back to January 2024. Britain left the EU's single market in January 2021 and has delayed full implementation of border controls several times due to worries about disruption at ports and the risk of adding to a cost-of-living crisis. In contrast, Brussels immediately introduced checks and paperwork for goods moving from Britain into the EU, leading to delays and higher costs, and making it challenging for some businesses to compete. Further requirements, such as physical checks and safety declarations are due to be introduced in stages through 2024.

Why Brits don't tip
  + stars: | 2023-08-28 | by ( Sophie Kiderlin | In | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +1 min
While Americans are questioning if there are any places left they aren't expected to tip at, those in other countries are watching with confusion. "Most establishments will add a discretionary charge automatically," Laura Windsor, founder of an etiquette academy in the U.K., told CNBC Make It. If such a charge appears on your bill, there's no need to tip, although it's always an option. If a tip isn't automatically added, customers usually leave an extra 10-20% of the total bill for workers, Windsor said. But there are some circumstances in which Brits would never tip but Americans always would, Bryant pointed out.

CNN —A novel trial that has been described as “the last roll of the dice” for a generation of HIV vaccines has entered its latter stages. Nearly 40 years since HIV was identified as the cause of AIDS, and 36 years since the first HIV vaccine trial, the medical community still does not have a working vaccine. New York City has a pest problem so prolific, the mayor hired a dedicated rat czar earlier this year. Previous efforts to reduce the rat problem include brutal traps, poison, and birth control bait. Mayor Eric Adams of New York, who often uses public appearances to reiterate that he “hates” rats, hired a rat czar this year dedicated to exterminating them. As rat hater in chief, Mr. Adams has continued the long “war on rats” that New York City mayors have waged for decades, with limited success. I’m an urban ecologist who’s studied New York City rats for 12 years, and I can say that the way the city and its residents have tried to exterminate rats, through traps and poisons, has been both ineffective and unnecessarily brutal. Today’s New York still has filthy streets, plus population density and aging infrastructure, making it a perfect home for its rats. City agencies have heavily relied on using rat poison; in 2021 alone, they applied over 60,000 pounds of rodenticide poisons.
