Singapore CNN —A humble suburban school in Australia has fended off competition from skyscrapers, museums and airport terminals to be named World Building of the Year 2024. Brett BoardmanA school had long been on the south Sydney site, though the old 1970s building was no longer fit for purpose, according to fjcstudio, the design firm behind the project. The World Building of the Year was selected from the winners of each category, as chosen by a panel of 175 festival delegates. Friday’s result marks the second consecutive year that the WAF judges opted for an educational building, with a serene boarding school in China taking last year’s title. Darlington Public School is also the second Sydney building to win in the past three years, after Quay Quarter Tower — dubbed the world’s first “upcycled” skyscraper for retaining two-thirds of an old high-rise on the site — won in 2022.

(AP) — Florida basketball coach Todd Golden is facing allegations of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, stalking and cyberstalking multiple women — including students — over the past 12 months, according to a report published Friday in the school’s student newspaper. According to the Independent Florida Alligator, the claims against Golden include unwanted sexual advances on Instagram, requesting sexual favors, and sending photos and videos of his genitalia. The newspaper based its report on a copy of a Sept. 27 Title IX complaint against Golden it said it had obtained. Stricklin forced women’s basketball coach Cam Newbauer to resign in 2021 amid allegations he verbally, physically and mentally abused players and staff members. Prosecutors have said in court filings that four aggravating factors exist in the case against Kohberger, who turns 30 later this month, making the crime more severe and the death penalty warranted. In another filing last month, Logsdon countered the state's claim that a "future dangerousness" aggravator exists in Kohberger's case. "Aggravators are intended for deciding which First Degree Murderers merit the death penalty. The death penalty in Idaho, while it remains on the books, had lapsed as its last execution was in 2012; the state, like many others, has had trouble procuring lethal injection drugs. But the state abandoned the execution after prison staff failed to establish an IV line, exposing the difficulties with administering the death penalty.

"Most of my expenses go towards food, but if I do spend money, it's typically towards gifts for family or my girlfriend." In these conversations with patients who are wary of religion, Callahan slips in another detail: He’s an atheist himself. Callahan is one of a growing number of openly atheist chaplains working in institutions around the country. Though the term “atheist chaplain” might sound like an oxymoron, he doesn’t see a contradiction between his beliefs and the work of tending to the human spirit. Other atheist chaplains don’t shy away from religion at all, instead helping people explore faith and spirituality in nontraditional ways. There may be few atheist and nonreligious chaplains right now, but as Callahan sees it, their numbers only stand to grow.

On Tuesday afternoon, prior to either race being called, when asked what she would do in that scenario, McBride said she would be prepared to push back on another Trump term. McBride said she didn’t want “to downplay the danger that comes with a second Trump administration” for LGBTQ people, but that hope “only makes sense in the face of hardship.”“It has always been in our community’s biggest challenges that we take our most significant steps forward,” she said after voting in Wilmington. In a second Trump administration, she said, the country could see what an advocate in Florida described to her as “a slingshot moment.”“We’re pulled backward, but the force and the pressure of being pulled backwards ultimately propels us to destinations that we’ve not yet been,” she said. Some trans people told NBC News ahead of the election that they had plans to leave their states or even the country should Trump win another term. McBride said she didn’t run to be a spokesperson for any particular community other than her constituents in Delaware.
