In a video where Kim Kardashian tours the offices of her Skkn by Kim company, she points out the glam rooms, theater and kitchen of her sprawling 40,000-square-foot space, all drenched in several rosy hues of beige. It is sparsely furnished, in keeping with what Kardashian has described as her love for the calming influence of minimalist design. Even the furniture tends to be minimalist chic. “These Donald Judd tables are really amazing,” Kardashian says, speaking of an artist widely celebrated for his genius with simple forms, “and totally blend in with the seats.”Except that the dining set is not by Donald Judd, according to the nonprofit foundation that represents his legacy. It sued the celebrity on Wednesday, accusing her of making false claims.

He was able to scale the business to more than $600,000 in revenue by 2018, when he graduated from high school. Before the internet, starting a business was a serious hassle. The problem wasn't that people weren't interested in starting a business: A 2016 EY study found that 62% of 18- to 34-year-olds had toyed with venturing into business ownership. That has made starting a business all the more appealing — and affordable — for prospective entrepreneurs. And with the plethora of digital tools we have today, starting a business is more accessible than ever.

Hermes is being targeted in a new lawsuit accusing the luxury retailer of selling its coveted Birkin handbags only to customers who have spent exorbitant amounts of money at the store on other goods. The handbags can only be purchased in a Hermes store, not on its website. However, the lawsuit claims that the average customer can't just walk into a Hermes store, find a Birkin on display and buy it. Rather, customers that are "deemed worthy" will be shown a Birkin in a private room. Hermes sales associates are tasked with choosing customers that are qualified to buy Birkins, according to the lawsuit.

AdvertisementSensor Tower shows that Instagram downloads were up 20% in 2023 compared to 2022, in contrast to TikTok's 4% year-over-year growth. Instagram beat TikTok not only in growth, but sheer volume of app downloads in 2023: Instagram had 767 million while TikTok had 733 million. One reason is Threads, the newly launched Twitter competitor, which requires an Instagram account and may have prompted some people who were curious about Threads to re-download Instagram. AdvertisementTikTok is getting oldAt the same time, TikTok, once the main existential crisis for Instagram (well, probably still is), is faltering. In 2014, that same age group (which we are trying not to refer to as middle-aged) accounted for only about 20% of Instagram users.

Stars like Kim Kardashian and Kyle Jenner have also been roasted for years over their private jet usage. Still, despite all the attention and outrage directed at popular female celebrities and their jets, they are not the majority of private jet travelers.

In the influencer world, Black female creators see their work co-opted without credit or apology. Kylie Jarrett, Ph.D., a scholar of media studies, refers to women content creators as "digital housewives," which is fitting because they often earn the same salary as stay-at-home moms: $0. Some of the most exploited people of all are Black women and girls who create content, then watch it get appropriated and monetized by others. They were eventually invited on the show via Zoom — but only after, you guessed it, social media outcry . The experience is so common among Black creators that in the summer of 2021, they went on strike to protest the practice of appropriating their work .
