Informatica , a U.S.-listed software developer, is well-positioned to benefit from the rise of artificial intelligence, according to analysts at Scotiabank. The California-headquartered firm last month launched its AI model — CLAIRE GPT — which is designed to help businesses use their data for generative AI applications. Generative AI, or GenAI, is the technology behind the hugely popular chatbot ChatGPT and other similar products. According to FactSet, the average price target of 16 analysts points to a 39% upside for the stock. RBC Capital analysts expect the stock to rise by 43% to $41 a share over the next 12 months.

The new OS18 also brings a calculator app to the iPad — a feature the device never had. The app looks a lot like the iconic orange and white calculator users have long seen on the iPhone. Math Notes will automatically be accessible in the preexisting Notes app. New calculator feature revealed at Apple WWDC 2024. Apple's calculator seems less impressive than OpenAI's GPT-4o, which can look at a math problem and verbally talk the user through the solution step-by-step.

While Apple announced Apple Intelligence, its in-house artificial-intelligence tool, it also said that Apple users will soon be able to use ChatGPT in Siri through an integration it created with OpenAI. The feature is part of Apple's iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and Sequoia, its computer operating system. Apple's iOS is installed on about 2.2 billion devices, Wedbush Securities estimated in a note on Monday. OpenAI said in a statement that "the ChatGPT integration, powered by GPT-4o, will come to iOS, iPadOS, and macOS later this year.

Jeff Yang CNNNaturally, Apple has locked down the details of the revelations it plans on releasing on Monday tighter than Fort Knox. Apple CEO Tim Cook introduces Apple Vision Pro, a mixed reality headset, at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA, on June 5, 2023. What’s the songs-in-your-pocket equivalent for Vision Pro? But so far, if Apple is looking to reclaim its real-world relevance, Vision Pro isn’t it — yet. Let’s hope that at this WWDC, the company defiantly ignores last year’s laughter and continues to look, and think, different.

However, many of the companies wishing to use generative AI functions and apps today rely on giants like Microsoft and Amazon through their cloud businesses. These so-called "hyperscalers" are buying huge amounts of chips from companies like Nvidia to train up these massive AI models in data centers running complex servers. Kneron is betting that businesses will not always want to rely on these cloud giants for their AI needs. A growing wave of deepfake scams has looted millions of dollars from companies worldwide, and cybersecurity experts warn it could get worse as criminals exploit generative AI for fraud. A deep fake is a video, sound, or image of a real person that has been digitally altered and manipulated, often through artificial intelligence, to convincingly misrepresent them. In one of the largest known case this year, a Hong Kong finance worker was duped into transferring more than $25 million to fraudsters using deepfake technology who disguised themselves as colleagues on a video call, authorities told local media in February. "The public accessibility of these services has lowered the barrier of entry for cyber criminals — they no longer need to have special technological skill sets," Fairman said. The volume and sophistication of the scams have expanded as AI technology continues to evolve, he added.
