Reuters —A US appeals court said on Tuesday that Madrid’s Thyssen-Bornemisza museum may keep a painting by the French impressionist Camille Pissarro that the Nazis looted from a Jewish woman, rejecting an ownership claim that her heirs have pursued for more than two decades. The 3-0 decision by the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Pasadena, California, came in one of the oldest Nazi art theft cases, which began in 2005 and reached the US Supreme Court two years ago. After learning where the painting was, Neubauer’s grandson, Claude Cassirer, petitioned for its return in 2001, and sued four years later. The painting (far right) on display at Madrid's Thyssen-Bornemisza museum, which acquired the work in 1993. REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLOS ANGELES, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Three music publishers are asking a federal court judge to issue a preliminary injunction that would prevent artificial intelligence company Anthropic from reproducing or distributing their copyrighted song lyrics. The three publishers filed a suit against Anthropic on Oct. 18, which accused the San Francisco company of "systematic and widespread" infringement of their copyrighted song lyrics. The publishers allege Anthropic "profits richly" from its infringement of their repertoires of copyrighted works, achieving a valuation of $5 billion while paying "nothing" to publishers or their songwriters. "Anthropic must not be allowed to flout copyright law," the publishers said in a court document supporting its request for a preliminary injunction. "If the court waits until this litigation ends to address what is already clear -- that Anthropic is improperly using publishers' copyrighted works -- then the damage will be done."

November 10 - Miles Kelly scored 27 points and Tyzhaun Claude added 19 to fuel host Georgia Tech to an 88-85 victory over Howard on Thursday night in Atlanta. Georgia Tech also overcame a 4-for-18 performance from 3-point range (22.2 percent) and 16-for-27 effort from the foul line (59.3 percent). Kelly drained a go-ahead 3-pointer and added another jumper to stake Georgia Tech to an 80-76 lead with two minutes remaining in the second half. Kelly responded by drilling a pair of free throws to push Georgia Tech's lead to 86-82 with 15 seconds left. He then stole the ball and added two more free throws before Strong's 3-pointer capped the scoring.
