CNN —Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano began erupting again after nearly three months of quiet, with glowing lava flows bursting within one of its craters Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey. The eruption started around 3:15 p.m. local time in Halemaʻumaʻu crater in Kilauea’s summit caldera at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, according to USGS. Kīlauea is the youngest and most active volcano on the island, with several summit eruptions since 2020. “The eruption was preceded by a period of strong seismicity and rapid uplift of the summit,” USGS said Sunday night. Sunday’s eruption at Kilauea serves as “a solemn reminder of the sacredness ingrained in this landscape,” Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park said on social media.

Hong Kong CNN —China has made a series of moves to restore investor confidence in the world’s second largest economy, including cutting a tax on stock trading for the first time since 2008. Foreign investors dumped billions of dollars worth of Chinese stocks over the past few weeks as the prospects for the economy dimmed. The announcements boosted Chinese stocks on Monday. Separately on Sunday, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) the country’s top securities watchdog, also unveiled several measures to “boost investor confidence” in the sagging stock market. Chinese stock markets have declined sharply in recent weeks, as investors fretted about a worsening slowdown in the world’s second largest economy and its real estate crisis.

Ron DeSantis last week and will help plan the building and operation of the Florida Museum of Black History, according to Bay News 9. Now, Jacques will be a key member in opening the state's first museum to honor Black history. "My main task on this task force is emphasize that Black history is part of American history," Jacques said, Bay News 9 reported.
