Washington CNN —Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is accompanying the body of late Sen. Dianne Feinstein on a plane from president’s military fleet to San Francisco, an aide told CNN. Feinstein, who shared a long friendship with Pelosi, the former House Speaker, died Thursday night following months of declining health. “Personally, it was a great honor to serve alongside Dianne for decades – from the hilly streets of San Francisco to the hallowed halls of Congress,” Pelosi said in a statement following Feinstein’s passing. Feinstein and Pelosi both have history-making legacies. Pelosi made history as the first and so far only woman to be speaker of the US House of Representatives.

The fund saw net retail inflows rise to $1.2 billion so far this quarter, Vanda’s data showed, even as prices slid to their lowest level since 2010 amid a sharp rise in yields. The ETF saw retail net inflows of nearly $746 million in the second quarter. The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF is down 13.3% in the third quarter and has fallen 10.4% year-to-date. Overall, the ETF saw nearly $3.9 billion in net inflows so far this quarter, according to Lipper data, slowing from nearly $6 billion last quarter but still on track to post its ninth straight quarter of inflows.

The money the bank is paying to the Virgin Islands, where Mr. Epstein had a private island residence for roughly two decades, will mostly go toward funding charitable causes in the U.S. territory in the Caribbean and paying lawyer fees. Mr. Epstein killed himself in a federal jail in Manhattan in August 2019, a month after he had was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. Mr. Epstein had been a client of JPMorgan both before and after he pleaded guilty in 2008 to a charge of soliciting prostitution from a teenage girl and had to register as a sex offender in New York, Florida and the Virgin Islands. NEW YORK (AP) — JPMorgan Chase agreed Tuesday to pay $75 million to the U.S. Virgin Islands to settle claims that the bank enabled the sex trafficking acts committed by financier Jeffrey Epstein. JPMorgan said that $55 million of the settlement will go toward local charities and assistance for victims. The Virgin Islands, where Epstein had an estate, sued JPMorgan last year, saying its investigation has revealed that the financial services giant enabled Epstein’s recruiters to pay victims and was “indispensable to the operation and concealment of the Epstein trafficking enterprise." JPMorgan sued Staley earlier this year, alleging that he covered up or minimized Epstein's wrongdoing in order to maintain the lucrative account. JPMorgan had already agreed to pay $290 million in June in a class-action lawsuit that involved victims of Epstein's trafficking crimes.

New York CNN —JPMorgan Chase has reached a settlement with the US Virgin Islands over a lawsuit alleging the bank enabled Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking crimes. The settlement includes “significant commitments” by JPMorgan Chase to curtail human trafficking, and a $75 million payment to the US Virgin Islands. Epstein was arrested in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking dozens of underage girls. The bank said that $30 million of the settlement will help support charitable organizations working to end human trafficking and to support survivors. And you thought Barbie’s creation myth was head-spinning! “Poor Things,” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Friday, often plays like a wild, art-house remix of Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster doll opus. But this is no family film: As baby-brained Bella starts to come of age, her lack of inhibitions steers her toward sexual situations that had the Venice moviegoer next to me squirming in his seat. Quite literally a child in a woman’s body, Bella can barely string words together and is given to shocking outbursts. Even gaining control of her limbs is a challenge: Bella lurches through Baxter’s mansion like a zombie dressed in drag, which I suppose she kind of is.

Berlin’s public prosecutor’s office on Tuesday said it had dropped its sexual assault investigation into Till Lindemann, the frontman for the rock band Rammstein, citing a lack of evidence. The investigation began in June after several women said that Mr. Lindemann had plied young people with alcohol and drugs before, during and after concerts in order to have sex with them. Lawyers for Mr. Lindemann denied those claims in a statement and threatened legal action against those making the claims and news outlets reporting on them. “I thank all those who have waited impartially for the end of the investigation,” Mr. Lindemann, 60, posted to Instagram on Tuesday.
