Hegseth and Rauchet disclosed their relationship to Fox management when Rauchet was pregnant (and Hegseth was still married). After returning home from Iraq in 2006, Hegseth wrote that more troops were urgently needed. Hegseth wrote “Modern Warriors” in 2020 and “War on Warriors” earlier this year, both for Fox’s book imprint.

A woman in Kentucky who is seeking an abortion filed a lawsuit Tuesday that seeks to strike down the state’s near total ban. The suit, filed by a woman referred to in the documents as Mary Poe, alleges that two Kentucky abortion laws violate the state Constitution’s rights to privacy and self-determination. “I feel overwhelmed and frustrated that I cannot access abortion care here in my own state, and I have started the difficult process of arranging to get care in another state where it’s legal. Poe’s lawsuit is also requesting class-action status for all pregnant people in Kentucky who are seeking access to abortion in the state but are not allowed to receive the medical treatment because of the abortion laws. In 2022, the ACLU was involved in a lawsuit brought by abortion providers on behalf of their patients.

The court has granted them a week's delay to provide their position, the clerk informed both sides in a court filing. HONG KONG — Hong Kong’s top leader on Tuesday warned President-elect Donald Trump not to interfere in the Chinese territory’s internal affairs after he said he would “100%” free the imprisoned pro-democracy activist and tycoon Jimmy Lai. He said Hong Kong, whose government denies that judicial independence is under threat, also valued the rule of law. “In these respects, I hope that all countries will respect the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and avoid political interference that could affect the judiciary and normal commercial activities in Hong Kong,” he said. CNN —Given his rhetoric demonizing undocumented immigrants and his promise to engage in mass deportations when he returns to the White House in January, it’s kind of shocking that deportations actually dropped in the four years Donald Trump was president. Appearing Monday on Fox News, Homan said Trump 2.0 will be like his first term but with more deportations. During his first term, Trump also promised mass deportations. But that’s about half the 2.9 million deportations undertaken during Barack Obama’s first term and fewer than the 1.9 million deportations during Obama’s second term. It’s on par with Biden’s 1.49 million deportations, according to updated calculations Bush-Joseph shared with me.

Analysts said tariffs on cars imported from Mexico would have dire consequences for US automakers. Tesla announced in March 2023 that it was planning to build its seventh gigafactory near the industrial hub of Monterrey, Mexico. Trump vowed to clamp down on automakers building cars in Mexico on the campaign trail, and the prospect of new tariffs could force US automakers such as Tesla to make some hard choices about operational or planned factories in Mexico. Analysts told BI that the tariffs floated by Trump would deter automakers such as Tesla from investing in Mexico. Other automakers have expanded their presence in Mexico, despite the uncertainty of the election and the prospect of tariffs under a second Trump term.
