Projected park closures and disruptions from Hurricane Milton could cut into Walt Disney 's earnings, according to Goldman Sachs analysts. Goldman Sachs reduced its estimate for Disney's fiscal 2025 earnings per share from $5.22 to $5.14. The storm is projected to make landfall around the Tampa area, which hasn't been hit directly by a hurricane since 1921. The storm is then projected to head toward Orlando, where Disney World is located, as it decreases in intensity. Spokespeople for Disney did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comment on the new earnings estimates.

Boeing delivered 33 airplanes in September, six more than during the same period a year earlier, as the company and its customers keep an eye on the impact of a machinist strike, now in its fourth week. Through September, Boeing has handed over 291 aircraft, well below the 371 it had delivered in the first nine months of 2023. Deliveries are key to Boeing. It's already burned through more than $8 billion this year since customers pay the bulk of the price when they receive the airplane. The two sides are back at the negotiating table this week, though the union dismissed a sweetened offer from Boeing last month.

A Wolfe Research analyst raised his view on troubled bank stock Wells Fargo, reasoning that regulatory and interest rate risks both are priced into the stock. Hurricane Milton is expected to continue to develop rapidly as it soaks up its natural fuel, warm water in the Gulf of Mexico. It could be pushing out sustained winds of 145 mph by them, according to its projections, making it a Category 4 hurricane. Rain, strong winds and possible storm surges were expected to begin Tuesday night along Florida’s west coast, according to NBC News meteorologists. Up to 8 inches of rain was forecast, with storm surges of 6 feet and more possible for coastal cities, they said. By late afternoon Saturday, Tropical Depression 14 had become Tropical Storm Milton, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A hurricane warning was issued for parts of Mexico's Yucatan state, and much of Florida's west coast was under hurricane and storm surge watches. It had maximum sustained winds of 160 mph (257 kph), the National Hurricane Center said. Its center could come ashore Wednesday in the Tampa Bay area, and it could remain a hurricane as it moves across central Florida toward the Atlantic Ocean. That would largely spare other states ravaged by Helene, which killed at least 230 people on its path from Florida to the Appalachian Mountains. The Tampa Bay area is still rebounding from Helene and its powerful surge.

CNN —An elderly man narrowly escaped with his life after a harrowing attack by a bear and her three cubs in his own home. “It’s certainly lucky we didn’t have a fatality,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer Lucas Martin said. Dating back to 1960, there have been 96 reported bear attacks on humans in the state. Experts urge different approaches during bear attacks: If a grizzly or brown bear charges, play dead, the National Park Service said. But if black bears – like the ones who entered the elderly man’s home – charge and attack, the park service warns to “fight with everything you have.”“Do not play dead.”

Tropical Storm Milton rapidly intensified into a Category 1 hurricane Sunday with its path aimed at Florida, less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene made landfall in the state. The storm debuted as a hurricane Monday afternoon after producing sustained winds of 80 mph and continued to strengthen by drawing fuel from the Gulf of Mexico's sultry waters. Forecasters said Milton was likely to reach major hurricane status, denoting a Category 3, 4, or 5 storm Monday. It was pushing out maximum sustained winds estimated to be 80 mph, with some higher gusts, the hurricane center said, and moving east at 6 mph. The storm is quickly strengthening, already boasting winds of 65 mph, according to an update Sunday morning from the National Hurricane Center. It is forecast to intensify into a hurricane by Sunday night — and a major hurricane by late Monday. Hurricane and storm surge watches will likely be issued for parts of the western Florida coast on Sunday — with dangerous storm surge expected for some areas just slammed by Helene. “This is something that potentially would be greater power outages than what we just saw with Hurricane Helene,” the governor said, noting the state’s residents still have a couple of days to get ready.
